In theory would a heavier shaft make it easier to shut the club face?

What weight in heel? What weight in toe?

My boss (MIT grad) of years ago was putting lead tape on his clubs, even his putter. He had notes on driving range shots and how much lead he calculated and where. I went to the range and watched. He was where he predicted, every club. Using a slide rule and math handbook.
