He legally has to give is name, license and exit the car. That’s the law for everyone. Not just him. Those are all lawful orders he had no right to refuse.

So he refused to exit the vehicle and resisted arrest. Could’ve been avoided. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I see a driver refusing a lawful order, taunting a LEO, and then resisting. It’s the epitome of FAFO. If you think you have been stopped inappropriately, the courtroom, not the roadside is the place to make your case.

"I know my rights!!!" almost always ends in prison time. Easily avoided by complying with the police. Use of force was very much justified. His low IQ had everything to do with getting punched in the face. His race had nothing to do with it.

So he refused to follow lawful orders from the officer?

How hard is it for these "people" to just comply with the cops and then take it to court if they violate the law? This is something every white 10 year old knows.

When will these dumbasses realize that arguing with cops on the side of the road DOES NOT WORK?!? Thats what courtrooms are for... Why do they feel like they dont have to follow societal norms and rules???

The premise of Critical Race Theory validated once again. Systemic racism is deeply embedded in the institutions of the U.S., law enforcement in particular. Manning's rights were violated without a doubt. The police officer brought 250 years of racism to the scene, as usual.

If you don't do what cops say they will arrest you. You can beat the rap, but you can't beat the ride. You do not have the right to "talk to a supervisor."

Nice way to wsit out all the context that shows why. You made it look like the cop immediately just opened the door and started punching before anything was said or done. This a classic case "I didn't dun nuffin"

He doesn't have a "right" to decline lawful orders, but browns aren't really capable of understanding anything, so this happens on the regular.

Listen fucc the police. That's first and foremost. But you can't fight the law without knowing the law. Translation: if a cop tells you to get out of the vehicle you HAVE to get out of the vehicle. It's called Pennsylvania V. Mims. You have to know your rights before you can flex

You don’t get to say the word supervisor and instantly get your way. These myths that people tell the black community have caused so much damage to their perception of what to expect in a police encounter.

He got roughed up b/c he failed to comply with basic laws that apply to all of us. When you're told to hand over ID and exit the vehicle, you have to do those things, even if you're black.

Where do these morons get the idea that they get to ‘demand’ a supervisor before complying with a legal order to hand over their license and registration?

Suffolk County PD in NY was under years of federal oversight until last August. It's a problematic PD that seems to hire even more problematic officers, in particular, racists. They've cost taxpayers in Suffolk millions in discrimination lawsuits

He has no right to “speak to a supervisor.” Lawful arrest and use of force against a noncompliant person. FAFO.

Dude thinks just because he made it to his house before the cop stopped him the traffic stop goes away. Turns a simple warning into an arrest for him and his wife. One of the most persistent myths in traffic law is the idea of the "driveway safe haven"—the belief that if you reach your own property before an officer approaches you, they lose all legal authority to enforce a traffic infraction. This bodycam from Port St. Lucie, Florida, provides a textbook case of how relying on bad legal advice can turn a non-criminal traffic violation into cuffs in the back of a squad car in under ten minutes. Details on what went down. An officer spotted a driver operating an ordinary golf cart along major public roadways (including Community Boulevard and Village Parkway). In Florida, golf carts are restricted to specifically designated municipal roads and cannot legally mix with regular street traffic on major thoroughfares. The officer followed the cart into a gated HOA community and initiated the stop right as the driver pulled into his driveway. When the officer asked for his driver’s license the driver immediately refused. The driver insisted that because he had crossed onto private curtilage, the officer was trespassing and had no power to cite him. Both he and his wife who emerged from the residence argued that the officer "missed his window" by failing to pull the cart over while it was still on the public road. The driver started demanding a supervisor, the driver waited until a patrol sergeant arrived. The sergeant made the reality simple: hand over identification now, or face arrest for obstruction. When the driver continued arguing instead of complying, cuffs came out. The situation degraded further when the woman physically stepped in between officers and the driver, leading to both individuals being taken into custody. Facing handcuffs and leaving their children with a neighbor, the driver attempted to bargain, offering his license after the fact. As the officers pointed out, this encounter was set to end with nothing more than a warning. Instead, both ended up booked into the St. Lucie County Jail. The Legal Breakdown An officer who observes a traffic violation on a public road does not lose jurisdiction simply because you cross property lines. Under established precedent, officers can complete a traffic stop in a driveway or open curtilage following continuous observation. Under Florida law, refusing to provide your driver’s license during a lawful traffic stop isn't a civil dispute—it constitutes resisting or obstructing an officer without violence (Fla. Stat. § 843.02), which is a first-degree misdemeanor. Physically interjecting or making contact with officers conducting a lawful detention instantly creates probable cause for an additional obstruction arrest. Argue the validity of a citation in court, never on the driveway. Once the handcuffs come out, the window to "just hand over the ID" has already closed. This dude and his wife just learned a valuable lesson the hard way
