He states, "There’s no question that people are seeing drones... Some of those drone sightings are, in fact, drones. Some are manned aircraft that are commonly mistaken for drones." Mayorkas adds that there is no evidence of foreign involvement and highlights that more than 1 million drones are registered in the United States. Says, "In September of 2023, the FAA changed the rules so that drones could fly at night, and that may be one of the reasons why now people are seeing more drones than they did before, especially from dawn to dusk." Says, "We want state and local authorities to also have the ability to counter drone activity under federal supervision."

My take on the drone situation. Drones are real. Drones are a genuine security issue. But what we are seeing with the New Jersey scare is not drones. All cases with sufficient information turned out not to be large drones.

You’ve got a million drones coming at you. Do you want to be there trying to try to take out drones with an assault rifle?
