I suspect he wasn’t traded. He was being called up to Miami, big leagues. They probably needed him on a plane asap to arrive in time to start the next day. Best way to leave.

I remember when Yasiel Puig got traded from CIN to CLE during a Reds game. Before he left the game, he got in a brawl with the Pirates and started his time with CLE suspended for a few games.

Two initial thoughts, 1) a better way for players to be notified during a game because 2) this feels like an employee being laid off on Friday afternoon just before quitting time. If they are being called up to the majors, then it would be nice to have the entire clubhouse clap or something
