Rough looking guy got on the 6 train yesterday at Bleecker with a guitar & harmonica and broke out a phenomenal Zevon “Keep Me In Your Heart”. Was blown away.

My most favorite memories of trips to NYC involve the street musicians.

I missed many a train back in my commuting days listening to station musicians. I still have memories of an electric oboe from 40 years ago.

Honest question: is it not the case that there are many amazing musicians, but for whatever reason they don’t make it? How do you think about that in relation to your awesomely successful career? Or in another way, what percentage is legitimately luck? I’ve been lucky in life.
