This immigration lawyer explains due process in a way even preschoolers can understand.

This morning, I observed several mega master hearings — a new tactic the Trump administration is using where up to 100 people appear before an immigration judge as if they are on an assembly line. Trump has turned our immigration system into a factory, denying due process and ignoring the law to indiscriminately and illegally remove our immigrant community members from this country. This is a blatant violation of due process, and it must be stopped.

🚨 ICE agents in masks and no uniforms abducting people from a Phoenix immigration court - no ID, no explanation, no due process. This is not law enforcement. This is authoritarianism. Demand accountability. Stay loud. Stay informed. Stay safe.

President Trump’s return to the White House has unleashed one of the most sweeping immigration crackdowns in modern #US history. Critics say the administration’s tactics violate due process and stretch the limits of US law. Watch the full investigation:

Due process is fundamental to our constitution. Democracy doesn’t exist without it. Trump's continued purging of immigration judges who disobey his demands is a blatant violation of due process. We must pass my legislation to get immigration courts out of the Executive branch.

The president can’t send people to a foreign prison without due process. Congress never authorized it and the Constitution doesn’t allow it. Due process isn’t a suggestion; it’s the protective barrier between the democratic rule of law and dictatorship.

Trump's extreme immigration enforcement has gone too far — from denying people due process to militarizing our communities. And he's still failing to put forth meaningful solutions for the millions of law-abiding longterm residents who have been here contributing to our economy and our communities. They deserve better.

Clinton signed a 1996 immigration law that established expedited removal, a fast-track deportation process that allows people to be deported without going before an immigration judge.

A federal judge has ruled the Trump regime broke the law when it deported over 200 Venezuelans to El Salvador's CECOT without due process in March. Here's your reminder of what due process is — and why it's the cornerstone of our democracy.

Today, Adriano Espaillat, Rep. Nydia Velazquez, and I introduced the Immigration Court Due Process Protection Act to stop DHS from ambushing immigrants who are simply showing up to their hearings and appointments. Enough is enough. No more fear at the courthouse. No more separating families. Everyone deserves due process.
