Coming from the same administration that pushed out the head of the FAA because they were investigating @elonmusk, dissolved aviation regulatory committees, and attempted to fire FAA staff including air traffic controllers... oh that's rich

This almost certainly sounds like a situation where the FAA asked for money to improve the "lines" or whatever he's talking about and the Republicans voted against funding it. I'm 70% sure that's what happened. They can't upgrade the lines w/o funding.
