"By 1990, people watching TV had something they didn't have in the 1980s, and it utterly changed the TV business. What changed? What was it? The answer is the remote control. In 1980, people had to physically get off the sofa to change the channel. In 1990, they could do it with the push of a button. And that utterly changed the TV business because you could rely on a certain amount of laziness in the 1980s where if somebody finished one program, they'd stick around through the commercial break for the next one. But by 1990, all bets were off. People could jump around at the press of a finger. So how did TV producers react to that? With something that's largely disappeared now but you still see, for instance, while watching a baseball game. You'll get to the 4th inning when they'll show a trivia question on the screen and answer the question after the commercial break when they return to the game. And that's incredibly powerful. Simple questions require simple answers not deflecting. The spokesman of the other CCC faction, Jacob Mafume can’t ask a journalist to take his questions elsewhere when he is sitting in an interview as a spokesman. How can a spokesman fail to give information of a major meeting? It is also a legitimate question whether Mai Lynnette Kore was at the meeting and more importantly, if she is part of the rotational presidency with consent.

Erbil-based Shams TV explains why they held off on airing their exclusive interview with Syrian President أحمد الشرع: The journalist explains that the pre-interview understanding from the channel was for the segment to serve as a way to calm the waters with regards to the Damascus-Kurdish conflict in Syria. He said the general vibe in Erbil is against the interview, and the Syrian president was savvy in his answers and emphasized he had no quarrel with the Kurdish people. They uploaded 49 minutes of the interview even though it was 1:19 minutes interview, they edited out 20 minutes.
