Also, his uncle was a founding band member of the Allman Brothers Band. Duane Allman was the band leader of ABB and played guitar on 11 of the 13 tracks on the Layla album. Duane also came up with the classic Layla riff. Fast forward to early 2000s Derek played most of Duane’s riffs in the Allman Brothers Band. All kinda mind blowing.
