The sirens usually give us a 90 second warning before the rocket explodes. A public shelter is usually at least a five minute walk away. That’s why, nearly everyone in Israel who has a shelter in their house, has opened it up to their neighbors. Our neighbors on every side of our home, don’t have a shelter. We do. In Kiryat Shmona, we arrived at the scene where a missile hit a bus directly, only to be met with two more back to back sirens. In such cities, you have under 15 seconds to find shelter.
