Sovereignty is not negotiable. You simply cannot lay claim to someone else's territory and then claim there is a dispute and other people have to talk with you—whether you are a dictatorship or a democracy. But when you have become a democracy, that means the government in power has been put in power by the wishes of the people. You would expect such a government to respect the wishes of other people.

Referendums are foreign interference? It’s the same situation as Quebec?? In Canada there is the freedom of speech, expression and protest. Also the freedom to hold a referendum. Ladies and gentlemen, this is India’s high commissioner who yet again does not understand how democracy works. 🤦🏽‍♂️ India is shaking, why not let Punjab hold a referendum? A question that should be asked.
