On the 6th day of recruiting myths: Myth #6: “Colleges don’t recruit from high school programs.” It’s true. I’ve never seen a D1 coach at a high school game. Maybe 1-2 make it out to the big well known pre-season tournaments, but in most states, HS ball is in the middle of their own season. So this myth is mostly true if you’re in the D1 or bust mentality. Almost all of us start with that goal, but there are a million things that have to go just right to make that happen. There are plenty of players with enough talent to play D1 that don’t start there. I know this because I played with some amazing ones. They ended up going the JUCO route for one reason or another, killed it as All-Americans, and are now playing at a higher level. I had local JUCO coaches at our HS games all the time. I actually saw them more often in high school than I did at the club tournaments I played in. Even if you think you’re destined for D1, it’s important not to discount it. What happens if you’re injured your sophomore or junior year, or you developed a little too late for D1 programs who have filled their class? What happens if your freshman grades sunk your GPA? What if the programs that offer you don’t have enough athletic aid to make the finances work for your family? To say all recruiting happens in club is more like saying I’m only interested in one path to my goal. And… if you kill it in high school season and get some recognition it can be enough to catch the attention of D1 programs. I had a good friend that nailed it her junior year. She had not received any offers going into May, but her HS season was incredible. She made zero errors all season! Her bat was 🔥 and she ended up getting selected as the Conference Offensive Player of the Year across the state of Arizona. She posted the award on X and immediately she had a D1 coach follow her. That coach eventually came to watch her play in club and have her out for a visit. The award didn’t get her an offer and neither did the high school play directly, but it built enough credibility to get some interest. And for people outside the “recruiting bubble”, these seemingly little things can be the tipping point. She’s a freshman this year playing D1 softball. So… if you’re thinking High School sports don’t provide recruiting opportunities, you’re thinking too narrowly. The opportunity looks different, but it’s still an opportunity to increase your odds of playing at the next level. #RecruitingRules Rule #2: Build your brand. Create your own luck - High school sports provided one of the best opportunities I had to build my brand. Local media coverage. State tournaments and awards. Those are things that don’t happen often in club. As I've been talking to people about their self custody lately - both Casa members and not - I hear the same thing over and over. "What happens if I die?" Many people feel pretty good about their bitcoin security for themselves. But their family members often have no idea how to use this stuff. Hardware wallet? Seed phrase stamped on metal? Shamir's secret sharing backups using SD cards, a passphrase, and a treasure hunt through the backyard with a shovel? 😵 We're solving that problem for all Casa members, starting today with Casa Inheritance. A key design principle we kept while building this was to make it as simple as possible for Recipients (your family members that will receive your bitcoin if you pass), while maintaining Casa-level security. An estate transfer is already a stressful time for family, and it can become even more stressful if you add in a crazy treasure hunt to access a fortune in bitcoin. For our basic 3 key vaults, we wanted it to be as easy as using the app. No metal plates, no need to use a hardware wallet, no magic passwords you have to keep track of or else risk messing up the asset transfer. Simplicity is security. So how does it work, in detail? A Vault Owner (Casa member) designates a Recipient (their family or friend) in the Casa app. The Recipient receives an invite to create a free Casa account. The Recipient scans a QR code provided by the Vault Owner, which contains an encrypted version of the owner's mobile key. This encrypted key is only able to be imported by the Recipient's Casa account, and the Recipient can't initially use it or see the vault balance. If the Vault Owner passes away, the Recipient can request access to the vault in their Casa app. This starts a 6 month timer, and sends a ton of notifications every month to the owner. If the owner is still alive, they can reject the request in app. If they are not, the timer will run out. When it does, the Recipient will be able to use the shared mobile key and the request a signature from the Casa Recovery Key for the shared vault. This gives them 2 out of 3 signatures, enough to access the assets. For 5 key vault users, one hardware key is shared with the Recipient. This small increase in friction for Recipients is often worth it for the increased security and resilience of a 5 key vault for larger holdings. To summarize now that you have the details: 1. Share keys and vault access during setup 2. 6 month timelock to ensure no malicious theft 3. Use shared keys and Casa key to access assets Full setup takes less than 5 minutes. Inheritance is one of the biggest problems in self custody today. As I've been talking to people about their self custody lately - both Casa members and not - I hear the same thing over and over. "What happens if I die?" Many people feel pretty good about their bitcoin security for themselves. But their family members often have no idea how to use this stuff. Hardware wallet? Seed phrase stamped on metal? Shamir's secret sharing backups using SD cards, a passphrase, and a treasure hunt through the backyard with a shovel? 😵 We're solving that problem for all Casa members, starting today with Casa Inheritance. A key design principle we kept while building this was to make it as simple as possible for Recipients (your family members that will receive your bitcoin if you pass), while maintaining Casa-level security. An estate transfer is already a stressful time for family, and it can become even more stressful if you add in a crazy treasure hunt to access a fortune in bitcoin. For our basic 3 key vaults, we wanted it to be as easy as using the app. No metal plates, no need to use a hardware wallet, no magic passwords you have to keep track of or else risk messing up the asset transfer. Simplicity is security. So how does it work, in detail? A Vault Owner (Casa member) designates a Recipient (their family or friend) in the Casa app. The Recipient receives an invite to create a free Casa account. The Recipient scans a QR code provided by the Vault Owner, which contains an encrypted version of the owner's mobile key. This encrypted key is only able to be imported by the Recipient's Casa account, and the Recipient can't initially use it or see the vault balance. If the Vault Owner passes away, the Recipient can request access to the vault in their Casa app. This starts a 6 month timer, and sends a ton of notifications every month to the owner. If the owner is still alive, they can reject the request in app. If they are not, the timer will run out. When it does, the Recipient will be able to use the shared mobile key and the request a signature from the Casa Recovery Key for the shared vault. This gives them 2 out of 3 signatures, enough to access the assets. For 5 key vault users, one hardware key is shared with the Recipient. This small increase in friction for Recipients is often worth it for the increased security and resilience of a 5 key vault for larger holdings. To summarize now that you have the details: 1. Share keys and vault access during setup 2. 6 month timelock to ensure no malicious theft 3. Use shared keys and Casa key to access assets Full setup takes less than 5 minutes. Inheritance is one of the biggest problems in self custody today. If an AI can control 1,000 robots to perform 1 million skills in 1 billion different simulations, then it may "just work" in our real world, which is simply another point in the vast space of possible realities. This is the fundamental principle behind why simulation works so effectively for robotics. Real-world teleoperation data scales linearly with human time (< 24 hrs/robot/day). Sim data scales exponentially with compute. There are 3 big trends for simulators in the near future: 1. Massive parallelization on large clusters. Chesterton’s Fence: don’t remove constraints you don’t understand You walk into an old system and see “stupid rules.” You want to clean house. You want to simplify. But: why is that rule there? Don’t remove a fence until you know why it was built. A lot of institutional weirdness is scar tissue from past disasters. The rule might be dumb — but if you don’t understand it, you don’t know what disaster you’re re-inviting. This is why naive reformers are dangerous: they confuse “not understanding a thing” with “the thing being pointless.” Gall’s Law: complex systems must grow from simple working ones Even if the fence is removable, you still hit the next problem: A complex system that works is always evolved from a simple system that worked. This demolishes a common fantasy: that you can design complexity from scratch. Most large redesigns fail for one reason: They try to create a finished organism instead of growing a living embryo. If the system matters, you don’t “implement” the final form. You build something simpler that works. Then you iterate. Gall’s law is harsh, but kind: it explains why so many ambitious “transformations” flame out. 3) Efficiency doesn’t save you (and sometimes consumes you) Now suppose you do manage to improve a system. You make it cheaper, faster, more efficient. Surely this reduces resource usage? Often, no. Jevons Paradox: efficiency increases total consumption When you make something more efficient, you often make people use more of it. Make lighting cheaper → people illuminate more spaces. Make driving more fuel-efficient → people drive farther. Make computing cheaper → people compute vastly more. Efficiency doesn’t always shrink the pie. It can expand it. This is one of the most important and least emotionally intuitive truths about progress: efficiency changes behavior. 4) Some things don’t get more efficient — and get expensive forever Now meet the mirror image of Jevons: not everything can get dramatically more productive. Some work is bottlenecked by time, humans, and attention. Baumol’s Cost Disease: sectors that don’t scale inflate A string quartet takes as long to play Beethoven as it did 200 years ago. A therapist can’t 10× their clients without breaking the thing. A teacher can’t “scale” classroom attention the way software scales distribution. Meanwhile, other industries do scale — manufacturing, computing, logistics. So as society grows richer, productivity sectors get cheaper and cheaper… and human-time sectors get relatively more expensive. That’s why: healthcare education legal services childcare eldercare …feel like they eat the world. Baumol isn’t “a problem to solve” so much as a physics constraint: certain value comes from human presence. And presence doesn’t compress easily. 5) The invisible accelerant: networks At this point you might feel like everything is doom and friction. It’s not. Some forces make systems wildly better as they grow. The biggest one is networks. Metcalfe’s Law: value scales with connections A phone is useless alone. A fax machine is useless alone. A social app is useless without other humans. As users increase, connections increase faster than users do. That creates accelerating value. Reed’s Law: groups scale even faster than connections But it’s not just one-to-one links. Once people can form groups — communities, coalitions, companies, subcultures — the number of potential groupings explodes. That’s Reed’s law: group-forming networks can scale with frightening speed. This is why networked platforms can go from “niche” to “dominant” almost overnight: the product isn’t just features — it’s the social graph. 6) Progress has a heartbeat: learning curves Not all progress comes from networks. Some comes from repetition. Wright’s Law: cost falls with cumulative production This is the law behind why solar, batteries, and manufacturing tech get cheaper and cheaper: Every doubling of cumulative production yields a predictable cost reduction. The implications are enormous: the future is shaped by what we manufacture at scale volume is not just output; it’s learning building the thing teaches you to build the thing better Strategy through Wright’s law becomes: maximize learning rate. Not “be brilliant,” but “iterate relentlessly.” 7) Cooperation is rare — and competition forces ugliness Now we move from economics into game theory and moral physics. Even with good metrics, good redesign, good scaling… Sometimes the system makes people do bad things. Prisoner’s Dilemma: defecting is rational If you and I cooperate, we both win. But if I suspect you might defect, I should defect first. So we both defect. We both lose. This structure appears everywhere: labor vs management nations vs nations companies vs companies roommates siblings Twitter discourse It’s tragedy-by-incentives. Moloch: the god of coordination failure “Moloch” is the poetic version of the same idea: systems where competition forces everyone into worse behavior, even if nobody wants it. No one wants the attention economy. But creators compete for attention. Platforms compete for engagement. So everyone converges on outrage and addiction. Moloch doesn’t need villains. It only needs incentives. 8) The biggest mistake smart people make: believing in averages Now we arrive at the statistical heart of why forecasts fail. Most planning assumes the world behaves like a bell curve: most outcomes are near the average, extremes are rare. In many domains, that’s false. Fat tails: extremes happen way more than you think In fat-tailed worlds, the “average” is a comforting lie. Outliers dominate: venture returns blockbuster movies bestselling authors company outcomes war and peace pandemics market crashes In a fat-tailed world: one event can erase ten years of progress or create it overnight Black swans: surprise + impact + fake hindsight A black swan isn’t just an outlier. It’s an outlier we didn’t know how to model. The signature of black swans is: huge impact surprise beforehand “it was obvious” afterward We are story machines. We can rationalize anything after it happens. Survivorship bias: you’re studying the winners This is why business advice is mostly nonsense. We read biographies of billionaires and imitate their habits — forgetting the cemetery of equally hardworking, equally smart people who lost. Survivorship bias turns randomness into “wisdom.” A good thinker always asks: what am I not seeing because it died? 9) The final set of tools: tradeoffs, simplicity, and time After you’ve internalized incentives, scaling, networks, and tail risk, you earn the right to something important: Less ideology. More judgment. That’s what these last lenses provide. Pareto efficiency: every improvement has a cost At some point, you stop making “free” gains and enter a world of tradeoffs. If you want more of A, you give up B. This is what breaks utopian thinking: more safety can mean less liberty more speed can mean less quality more fairness can mean less efficiency more growth can mean more inequality Smart people aren’t the ones who avoid tradeoffs. They’re the ones who name the tradeoff out loud. Occam’s Razor: don’t add gears without proof Now that you’re thinking in systems, you could easily overcomplicate. Occam is your brake pedal: prefer the simplest explanation that predicts. It’s not “simplicity is truth.” It’s: don’t hallucinate complexity. Lindy: time is the best filter we have In fragile worlds, “new” is often a synonym for “untested.” The Lindy effect says: the longer something has survived, the longer it’s likely to survive. Ideas, books, institutions, even practices: time is a stress test. Lindy isn’t anti-innovation. It’s pro-robustness. Comparative advantage: specialization beats self-reliance Finally, comparative advantage gives you the social version of Occam. Even if you’re worse at everything than someone else… trade can still make both better off, because efficiency comes from relative differences. That lens dissolves a lot of macho self-sufficiency myths. So what does this worldview do? It does three things. First: it replaces naive optimism with durable optimism Not “everything will work out.” But: we can build systems that don’t collapse under their own incentives. Second: it changes what you fear Not competitors. Not critics. Not even failure. You start fearing: bad metrics misaligned incentives brittle complexity tail risks coordination failure Which are the real predators. Third: it gives you a usable strategy A decision-making style that looks like this: Start simple (Gall) Measure carefully (Goodhart) Align incentives (principal–agent) Expect adaptation (cobra effect) Respect old constraints (Chesterton) Model scaling honestly (Metcalfe/Reed/Wright) Don’t assume efficiency saves you (Jevons/Baumol) Prepare for tails (fat tails / black swans) Don’t trust winner stories (survivorship bias) Name tradeoffs and keep models simple (Pareto + Occam + Lindy) That list is more than theory. It’s a survival kit for reality. That's what I care about. 🌏Postecoglou has coached every age group at national / international level on 3 continents. That's inspirational and commands respect, if he was to be found out, as he said, he'd have been a long time ago like these former pros who cry because they get a U19 team relegated (ask me the names). 🤓From a footballing standpoint, he's not making up theoretical shit like all these nerds jumping up on the Pro License barely coaching a team; and scrambling to figure out the reality of the sport/people in Phase 2, 3 doing the polar opposite to what they told everyone they'd do. 🧠The football Postecoglou sets up has room for decision making within a structure which is an extraordinary achievement from a coaching standpoint, and what every coach in the world should aspire to do. Ajax or Netherlands 1974, Nantes 1995, Rijkaard's Barcelona, Wenger's Arsenal. If you like "good football" , this is good football. If you want to win, pay more and get the best players. The correlation is right there. 🔁There's rotations everywhere (think triangles who tilt, carrier and two options short/long), and players have 2-3 options everytime. The right balance between combinations into feet and third man runs (third man runs are vital - and often forgotten when nerds coach teams and have a control kink) 🫡For that, you need a club culture of empowered players caring about the common good ; and also good enough to act selflessly to what the game demands (and actually execute it). ⚖️The challenge is that bang average off the mill pros do what they're told, can't do most things. Slot maybe, Howe, Emery, Frank, Glasner, Moyes, McKenna who value the holistic composition of performance: squad chemistry, work ethic, managing people and treating them as adults. Coincidence or not, I rate all of them. Coincidence, they all overperfom with the resources they have. 🚩Defensively, the idea to hold a high line can make sense on the occasion. Most of you don't work in football. People who do know the biggest paradox in the modern age is that lot of players are outstanding to think smart and execute fast in high pressure situations; yet are out of their depth when they have time and space to think. 🫣Chelsea 11v9 took half an hour to break down 9 fuckers on halfway line, and people know how badly it reflected on one of the worst assemblage of players ever seen pound for pound. And that's not Postecoglou's team. Then again, listen to who you want. If you get one or two key players injured by the extreme random demands of the game (facing a Haaland, Jackson etc... stretches your CBs to the limit - Van de Ven got muscular in game injury like Rodri got injured like Fofana got injured). 🚁💰I don't think the training methods are in question; not should they be questioned more than Pep or Maresca's who can actually afford to get replacement brought in (and still get injuries) - and never get questioned. Spurs play Gray at CB. Chelsea can afford to call Chaloback, or City sign another 40 million a piece CB. 🕳️Spurs lost Kane and finished 5th, like nothing happened. Tremendous, organic (= player led) output. What you can do = the team's outlook. ⚽️I'm talking football there, not theory, not pattern playbook, not fiscal optimisation. 📊Spurs are working on relative budget. Don't budget CL football. Spend 40% turnover on wages, when Chelsea's etc... are 70% or Leicester 120%. 🏇💉It's like the only clean horse in a race when others are stuffed with red bull, cocaine and creatine. These clans, operating more like organised crime families than traditional immigrant communities, have quietly embedded themselves into the fabric of British politics and public life. And yet, few dare to speak of it. Until now. We are right to describe these networks as Pakistani Rape Clans, not simply Pakistani Rape Gangs. The term “clan” better reflects the structure, loyalty, and operational dynamics at play. As Professor Alexis Jay observed during her investigation into the Rotherham scandal, these clans often trace their roots to a specific region of Pakistan. This distinction matters, and it should shape how we think about these crimes and the systems that allow them to flourish. We need to move beyond the vague and misleading label of “Asian grooming gangs.” Precision matters, and with it comes a clearer understanding of how these clans operate - and why they evade scrutiny. 1. Clan Structures and the Limits of Western Oversight In Pakistani communities, the clan (or baradari) structure creates a web of loyalty that transcends the nuclear family model most Western institutions are built to monitor. In the UK, declarations of interest, meant to prevent conflicts of interest among politicians and public servants, typically require disclosure of ties only to close family members, such as spouses or children. But in these Pakistani clans, the network extends far beyond. First cousin marriages are common and reinforce familial bonds, while informal financial systems like “committee” (a parallel banking and loan scheme) bind families together economically. These networks create an almost impenetrable wall of loyalty and dependency. The result? These clans can operate much like mafia families. Within a single clan, you may find elected officials, police officers, civil servants, and members of organised crime - all working in a web of protection and mutual interest. Our traditional safeguards, rooted in Western definitions of family, simply aren’t equipped to detect these relationships. 2. Electoral Corruption and Clan-Controlled Power This clan dominance doesn't stop at cultural or economic networks, it extends deep into British democracy itself. Postal vote fraud and Muslim bloc voting have become powerful tools for entrenching sectarian, clan-affiliated politicians in office. In many towns, entire neighbourhoods vote not as individuals, but as a single bloc - under instructions from community leaders or mosque elders who act on behalf of the clan’s interests. Postal votes, often harvested or filled in under coercion, ensure that dissenting voices, especially women or younger voters, are silenced before they even reach the ballot box. This isn’t democracy. It’s feudalism by post, where elections become little more than coronation ceremonies for candidates who owe their loyalty not to constituents or country, but to the clan. These same politicians then sit in Parliament or local councils, not just as representatives of political parties, but as nodes in a wider network - often untouchable, protected by cultural taboos, political correctness, and accusations of racism. 3. The Implications: What Are We Missing? This raises a crucial question: Which clans do certain public figures belong to? Once we apply a clan-based lens to political activity, the picture begins to sharpen. Take Tahir Ali MP. He has previously used his parliamentary platform to advocate for blasphemy laws - echoing the values of hardline Pakistani clerics, not British liberal democracy. He has also pushed for an airport in Mirpur, a bizarre priority unless you understand the pull of clan ties and dual allegiances between the UK and a single region in Pakistan. Then there’s Shabana Mahmood MP, who this week intervened to defend the censorship of rape gang trial transcripts, objecting to public access that could expose cultural or religious motivations behind the crimes. Instead of siding with transparency and justice, the Justice Secretary sided with concealment. And @AfzalKhanMCR? Despite his position as an MP for Manchester Gorton and former Mayor of the great city, he has remained conspicuously silent on Operation Augusta - a police investigation into hundreds, if not thousands, of child sexual exploitation victims in Greater Manchester. His silence speaks volumes, especially when the victims were largely white working-class girls and the perpetrators predominantly from Pakistani backgrounds. There are a long list of politicians, operating at local and national levels, who I could continue to name and critique. Once we start viewing British politics through this lens, where clan loyalty supersedes democratic duty, we begin to uncover a buried infrastructure of influence that spans from small towns in the UK to rural regions of Pakistan. Now are you starting to see why Labour politicians have repeatedly tried to imprison me? Why Pakistani sectarians and Islamists, shielded by Andy Burnham's now-discredited, rape gang-protecting Greater Manchester Police, have openly called for my murder? As Professor Alexis Jay observed during her investigation into the Rotherham scandal, these clans often trace their roots to a specific region of Pakistan. This distinction matters, and it should shape how we think about these crimes and the systems that allow them to flourish. We need to move beyond the vague and misleading label of “Asian grooming gangs.” Precision matters, and with it comes a clearer understanding of how these clans operate - and why they evade scrutiny. 1. Clan Structures and the Limits of Western Oversight In Pakistani communities, the clan (or baradari) structure creates a web of loyalty that transcends the nuclear family model most Western institutions are built to monitor. His silence speaks volumes, especially when the victims were largely white working-class girls and the perpetrators predominantly from Pakistani backgrounds. There are a long list of politicians, operating at local and national levels, who I could continue to name and critique. Once we start viewing British politics through this lens, where clan loyalty supersedes democratic duty, we begin to uncover a buried infrastructure of influence that spans from small towns in the UK to rural regions of Pakistan. There are 500,000 ‘b00ts on the ground’ Indigos that have been assisting humans during their time of captivity now for hundreds of millions of years. You have called us witches & warlocks in the past, medicine men/women, Sufis, the Whirling Dervish, Indigos, Starseeds, Rainbow Children and many others, including Djedi Knights in more ancient times. Like seemingly everyone on this app I have plenty of opinions about Twitter > X and figure now is a good time to open up a bit about my experience at the company. I tweeted for years into the void for the love of it like many of you, but after selling my startup to Twitter in 2020 I finally got to see it from the inside. Up close it was both amazing and terrible, like so many other companies and things in life. As someone with a maniacal sense of urgency built into me, Twitter often felt siloed and bureaucratic. Dumb power plays, reorgs and team name changes for the sake of someone’s ego were distractions that occurred too regularly. You couldn’t just be a builder — you also needed to be a politician. I was shocked by how old and bespoke the infrastructure was, but there was little will to think beyond quarterly earnings calls because we were all beholden to the masters of mDAU and revenue growth as a public company. It often felt like things were held together with duct tape and glue, and that many people had just accepted that a small product change could take months or quarters to build. Management had become bloated to accommodate career growth and the company culture felt too soft and entitled for my own taste. Healthy debate and criticism was replaced by a default refrain of “no, that can’t be done” or “another team owns that so don’t touch it”. Teams could spend months building a feature and then some last-minute kerfuffle meant it’d get killed for being too risky. Just talking directly to customers could turn into a turf war and create deadlocks between functions. I recall one such episode where a teammate spent a month trying to get clearance to reach out to some creators. He went through 3 layers of management and 6 different functional teams. In the end 4 executives were involved in the approval. It was insanity, and unfortunately I saw several top performers get burnt out and demoralized after exhausting experiences like that. Most people were good at their jobs but it was nearly impossible to fire poor performers — instead they got shuffled around to other teams because few managers had the will or resources to figure out how to get them out. A high performance culture pulls everyone up, but the opposite weighs everyone down. Twitter often felt like a place that kept squandering its own potential, which was sad and frustrating to see. The person who was best at cutting through the BS and inspiring a vision during my tenure was Kayvon Beykpour, but he wasn’t fully empowered to run the company since he wasn’t the CEO. Despite those real issues, I was lucky enough to work with some of the most talented people in the business at Twitter in product, design, engineering, research, legal, BD, trust & safety, marketing, PR and more. Often it was a small cross-functional team of intrinsically motivated people who made the biggest impact by challenging some core assumption. Those teams were very fun to be on but they felt like the exception rather than the rule. The months of waiting for the deal to close in 2022 were particularly slow and painful; it felt like leadership hid behind lawyers and legal language as all answers about the company’s future notoriously included the phrase “fiduciary duty”. Colleagues openly talked about how Twitter was being sold because leadership didn’t have conviction in their own plan or ability to fix longstanding problems. Although I didn’t know much about Elon I was cautiously optimistic – I saw him as the guy who built incredible and enduring companies like Tesla and SpaceX, so perhaps his private ownership could shake things up and breathe new life into the company. My take on what’s happened since then is full of lived nuance. When people ask why I stayed it’s easy to answer: optimism, curiosity, personal growth and money. From the beginning I saw that some changes Elon was going to make were smart and others were stupid, but when I’m on a team I uphold the philosophy of “praise in public and criticize in private”. I was far from a silent wallflower. I shared my opinions openly and pushed back often, both before and after the acquisition. I made peace with the fact that I didn’t have psychological safety at Twitter 2.0 and that meant I could be fired at any moment, and for no reason at all. I watched it happen repeatedly and saw how negatively it impacted team morale. Although I couldn’t change the situation I did my best to shine a light on folks who were doing important work while being an emotionally supportive leader for those who were struggling to adapt to the more brutalist and hardcore culture. In person Elon is oddly charming and he’s genuinely funny. He also has personality quirks like telling the same stories and jokes over and over. The challenge is his personality and demeanor can turn on a dime going from excited to angry. Since it was hard to read what mood he might be in and what his reaction would be to any given thing, people quickly became afraid of being called into meetings or having to share negative news with him. At times it felt like the inner circle was too zealous and fanatical in their unwavering support of everything he said. When individuals encouraged me to be careful about what I said I politely thanked them and said I would not be taking their advice. I had no interest in adding to a culture of fear or walking on eggshells around Elon. Either he would respect me for being real or he could fire me. Either outcome was okay. I quickly learned that product and business decisions were nearly always the result of him following his gut instinct, and he didn’t seem compelled to seek out or rely on a lot of data or expertise to inform it. That was particularly frustrating for me since I believed I had useful institutional knowledge that could help him make better decisions. Instead he'd poll Twitter, ask a friend, or even ask his biographer for product advice. At times it seemed he trusted random feedback more than the people in the room who spent their lives dedicated to tackling the problem at hand. I never figured out why and remain puzzled by it. I don’t think things had to be as difficult or dramatic as they turned out to be but I can’t say I’d bet against Elon or count him out. He’s smart and has enough money to make a lot of mistakes and then course correct when things go awry. As the largest shareholder he can tank the value in the short-term, but eventually he’ll need things to turn around. His focus on speed is incredible and he’s obviously not afraid of blowing things up, but now the real measure will be how it get reconstructed and if enough people want the new everything app he is building. I learned a ton from watching Elon up close – the good, the bad and the ugly. His boldness, passion and storytelling is inspiring, but his lack of process and empathy is painful. Elon has an exceptional talent for tackling hard physics-based problems but products that facilitate human connection and communication require a different type of social-emotional intelligence. Social networks are hard to kill but they’re not immune from death spirals. Only time will tell what the outcome will be but I hope X finds its footing because competition is good for consumers. In the meantime, I have a lot of empathy for the employees who are working tirelessly behind the scenes, the advertisers who want a stable platform to sell their stuff on, and the customers who are experiencing chaotic updates. It’s been a madhouse. Twitter moved at the speed of molasses and suffered from bureaucracy but now X is run by a mercurial leader whose instinct is driven by the unique and undoubtedly weird experience of being the biggest voice on the platform. Many of you know me from the sleeping bag incident where I slept on a conference room floor, so I figure, let’s talk about that too. Going viral was an odd and interesting experience. I was attacked by people on the left and called a billionaire bootlicker, while simultaneously being attacked by people on the right for being a working mom who was demonized as an example of a woman choosing her career over her family. Thankfully I can laugh at myself and I don’t take armchair keyboard ideologues too seriously. Being the main character on the timeline, even for a few minutes, requires a thick skin and a strong sense of self. The real story is pretty simple. I was given a nearly impossible deadline for his first project and as the product lead I would never ask anyone to do anything I wasn’t willing to do myself. So I worked round the clock alongside an amazing team spanning many timezones, and we delivered it on schedule – truly against the odds. It was intense but also fun. Those first few months were wildly crazy but I wanted to be there and I have no regrets. Showing up and giving it your all should, in most cases, be celebrated. Obviously you can’t work at that pace forever but there are moments where bursts are mission critical. I’ve pulled many all-nighters in my career and also when I was a student for something that mattered to me. I don’t regret putting in long hours or being ambitious, and feel proud of how far I’ve come from where I started thanks in part to that type of work ethic. I think of life as a game, and being at Twitter after the acquisition was like playing life at Level 10 on Hard Mode. Since I like taking on difficult challenges I found it interesting and rewarding because I was growing and learning so rapidly. I realize our society today trends toward polarization but when it comes to this app, its owner, and its future, I am neither a fangirl nor a hater — I’m an optimistic pragmatist. This may really irritate the internet but you cannot pigeonhole me into some radical position of either loving or hating every change that’s occurred. I escaped my fundamentalist upbringing and am a free thinker these days. Everyone can be seen as both a hero or a villain, depending on who is telling what angle of the story. Elon doesn’t deserve to be venerated or vilified. He’s a complicated person with an unfathomable amount of financial and geopolitical power which is why humanity needs him to err on the side of goodness, rather than political divisiveness and pettiness. I disagree with many of his decisions and am surprised by his willingness to burn so much down, but with enough money and time, something new & innovative may emerge. I hope it does. Sometimes I get asked about how I felt when I got laid off, and the truth is it was the best gift I’ve ever received. Sure the headlines and punchlines wrote themselves but I was battle hardened by then. I knew that I’d worked in a way where I could walk out with my head held high. I have no bitterness about the Product Management team being dismantled, and it made sense for me to exit as nearly all of the remaining PMs were let go. Going on a sabbatical afterward has been exactly what I needed to decompress and I’m finally feeling rested and relaxed. I’m a creative and a builder, so sooner than later I’ll jump back into a high intensity company but I’m grateful for this season of thinking, reading, traveling and being with people I love. After having time to reflect I believe more than ever that the very best outcomes flow from great leadership that combines the head and the heart. I’d be remiss if I didn’t note that in all of this there is also a cautionary tale for anyone who succeeds at something — which is that the higher you climb, the smaller your world becomes. It’s a strange paradox but the richest and most powerful people are also some of the most isolated. I found myself frequently looking at Elon and seeing a person who seemed quite alone because his time and energy was so purely devoted to work, which is not the model of a life I want to live. Money and fame can create psychological prisons which may worsen mental health conditions. We’ve all seen high profile cases of celebrities who end up with some combination of depression, paranoia, delusions of grandeur, mania and/or erratic behavior. Living in an echo chamber is dangerous and being at the top makes a person even more susceptible to being surrounded by yes people when nearly everyone around you is on the payroll and somehow stands to benefit from being in your orbit. Figuring out how to keep “better angels” around in the form of family, friends, and teammates is critical to staying on the rails and enduring intense ups and downs. Everyone needs to hear hard truths sometimes and if you fire all the people who speak up then the reality distortion field may just turn into a vortex. I was drawn to Twitter because I’m obsessed with the problem of loneliness and connection between people. I find it fascinating & troubling that humans are getting lonelier as we simultaneously create a world that’s both safer and wealthier. I don’t believe that trade-off has to exist, which is why I keep returning to that theme in my personal and professional life. I realize this is too long of a tweet but Twitter was a weird and special place on the internet, and I’m grateful to have played a teeny tiny role in its story and evolution. I’m here for whatever comes next — on this app and in new places. Consumer social is very much alive and at a fascinating juncture, so I’ll be watching and participating and sharing hot takes because I don’t want to, and probably can’t, turn that part of me off. Perhaps X becomes a resounding success. Or it fails epically. Either way, I expect it will continue to be a very entertaining ride. 🫡

We’re often told Western societies are experiencing conditions reminiscent of the German Weimar Republic. But what exactly was the German Weimar Republic? I’d like to explain the republic…and its incredible levels of debauchery, meaninglessness, sex, drugs, and—of course—Jews. “The decay of moral values in all areas of life—the period of deepest German degradation—coincided exactly with the height of Jewish power in Germany.” -Karl Wiehe Background The Weimar Republic is the unofficial name—that was popularized by Adolf Hitler—of the German nation-state that existed from November of 1918 to March of 1933. It was named for the city of Weimar, Germany where the constitutional assembly that established the new German republic met. The official name of the republic was the German Reich. The Weimar Republic was established after Germany’s loss in WWI. Germany was forced under the Treaty of Versailles to accept “full responsibility” for the war and pay the debts of all the allied countries. Being forced to pay these massive debts devastated the German economy and skyrocketed inflation, unemployment, and suicide within Germany. At one point 40% of Germans were unemployed and many were homeless. In 1932, the German suicide rate was more than three times that of Great Britain and in one two-year period, Germany had more suicides than there had been deaths of American soldiers in all of WWI. The German currency became the most worthless currency in Europe. A loaf of bread in Berlin that cost around 160 German Marks at the end of 1922, cost 200,000,000,000 German Marks by late 1923. The German peoples’ life savings and purchasing power had melted away over the course of a few months. With a single US dollar being worth 4,210,500,000,000 German Marks by November of 1923, foreign currencies had much greater buying power in Germany. So naturally, foreigners flocked to Germany to take advantage of the cheap prices. With these foreigners arriving en masse, Germans desperate for work turned to one of primary industries the foreigners flocked to Germany for: the sex industry. Sex and Drugs Germans began flocking to urban hubs in search of work, and no urban hub was more popular than Berlin. Prostitution in Berlin wasn’t explicitly legal but existed in a kind of legal gray area where certain aspects of the sex trade were regulated while others remained unregulated. However, enforcement of any laws restricting prostitution was lax to non-existent. On any given night up to 100,000 prostitutes would line the streets of Berlin. Every type of prostitute was available: midgets, pregnant prostitutes who lined up on the street according to how pregnant they were, prostitutes that purposefully tried to be ugly, prostitutes with acid-scarred faces, prostitutes with missing limbs, mother and daughter prostitute pairs, dominatrixes, even hunchback prostitutes. Interracial, inter-generational, forced or abusive sex acts were all available for the right price. There was also a large male prostitution industry and homosexual men from across Europe came to Germany to pay for homosexual sex. And unlike most cities, Berlin boasted having not a single red-light district—but multiple. Child prostitutes were bought and sold in Weimar Berlin in a booming industry. Advertisements for child prostitutes were even placed in German magazines and newspapers. A person could order a child, or any other type of prostitute for that matter, over the phone and have them a few short minutes later. British historian Sir Arthur Bryant describes throngs of child prostitutes outside the doors of the great Berlin hotels and restaurants. Bryant adds, “most of them—the night clubs and vice resorts—were owned and managed by Jews. And it was the Jews among the promoters of this trade who were remembered in after years.” There were homosexual, lesbian, and even transsexual bars where, occasionally, public masturbation and orgies took place. These homosexual bars weren’t isolated or rare one-off outliers either, there were over 50 lesbian bars in Berlin and around 100 homosexual bars total. Drag shows and cross dressing were commonplace in these bars. Sexual acts involving torture or acts bringing a victim close to death, or even—in some instances—to death were performed in Weimar Germany (called Lustmord). As often happens when violent sexual perversions arise, so too do serial killers playing out their fetishes in reality. I refuse to name serial killers in my writings because I think it glorifies them, but you can look them up yourself. German Newspapers devoted entire sections to the violent sexual crimes of these serial killers and fictional accounts of murders sold very well on German book stands. Serial Killers had a romanticized lore around them, similar to what we see in western society today. Alongside prostitution and homosexual clubs, porn also enjoyed a golden age during the Weimar Republic. Like prostitution, porn existed in a kind of legal gray area where enforcement of any regulations on it were lax to non-existent. Images could be purchased under-the-counter at most street media kiosks. According to one report there were as many as 30 homosexual publications on any given Berlin media kiosk. Above all, pornography featuring models who bore a resemblance to the biggest movie stars of the day, such as Marlene Dietrich or Greta Garbo, were in the highest demand. Fashion began to blur the lines between masculine and feminine. The female image began to experiment with a more strong-willed independent tone and some women began to dress in masculine clothing. Similarly, male fashion began to experiment with feminization and cross-dressing amongst men began to rise. Berlin’s women began to question the need for a man in their lives at all and many Berlin women had no desire to start or raise a family. Drug use in the Weimar Republic also ran rampant and Berlin gained a reputation as a drug dealing hub around Germany and Europe. Cocaine was the most popular drug in the Weimar Republic and only required a simple prescription from a doctor. That said, opium (a predecessor to heroin), morphine and amphetamines were all readily available and extensively used as well. The drug usage was so pervasive there was even experimentation with using drugs for “scientific” sexual purposes. One of the chief “scientists” behind this experimentation with sex was a man named Magnus Hirshfeld. Magnus Hirschfeld was a homosexual Jew and one of the thought leaders behind the sexual debauchery overtaking Berlin. Hirschfeld had founded political organizations that fought for the rights of homosexuals in Germany well before the Weimar era and as far back as 1896. He led the campaign to overturn a statue of German Law called Paragraph 175 which forbid homosexuality in Germany. Hirschfeld would later go on to write a 1914 book called The Homosexuality of Men and Women in which he attempted to prove homosexuality occurred in every society around the world. Hirschfeld’s crowning achievement of debauchery, however, occurred in July of 1919 when he opened The Institute of Sexual Research (Institut für Sexualwissenschaft) in Berlin. The institute’s stated purpose was to establish the sexual sciences…and establish the sexual sciences the institute did. It was at the Institute of Sexual Research where the initial rubric for the innumerable genders we see in leftism today originated. At the institute, Hirschfeld developed a system which categorized 64 possible types of sexual intermediary (aka genders) and it was Hirschfeld who coined the term transvestite in 1910 and the term transsexual in 1923. The institute even performed sex re-assignment surgery. The Institute of Sexual Research also housed a large library for any and all homosexual, transsexual, and erotic literature. The institute had places for homosexuals to stay overnight as well as some of the first counseling services specifically tailored to homosexuals. Homosexual-specific medical services were provided in the institute as well. The institute also housed the Museum of Sex, an educational resource for the public, which was reported to have been visited by school classes. I think the writer Luigi Barzini most succinctly summarized the rampant debauchery that was Weimar Berlin when he said: “I saw pimps offering anything to anybody: little boys, little girls, robust young men, libidinous women, animals. The story went the rounds that a male goose whose neck you cut at just the right ecstatic moment would give you the most delicious frisson of all—as it allowed you to enjoy sod*my, bestiality, homosexuality, necrophilia, and sadism at one stroke.” A debaucherous infestation had overtaken Berlin and nowhere was that more evident than in the arts. Art, Music, and Film Art, music, and film in Berlin were overtaken by the sexual revolution and a move toward a Jewish-influenced anti-authoritarianism as well. The Berlin film industry started releasing risqué and homosexual films. The world’s first known homosexual film—Anders als die Andern (1919)—came out in Berlin during the Weimar era and is the story a man falling in love with one of his male violin students. This film was written by and featured none other than Magnus Hirschfeld himself. Another film called Mädchen in Uniform (1931) is about a schoolgirl who falls in love with her female teacher. The two commence a forbidden love and eventually even share an on-screen lesbian kiss on the mouth. The film ends when this lesbian love is exposed and the protagonist attempts suicide. German expressionist cinema also came to prominence in the Weimar Republic. This form of cinema emphasized depicting the artist's inner emotions (no matter how crude those emotions may be) rather than attempting to replicate reality. Two of the three key figures for the German expressionist movement were the Jews Fritz Lang and Robert Wiene. The expressionist film Metropolis was one of the biggest films of the Weimar era. Metropolis’ content is emblematic of the anti-authoritarian and communist messages of German expressionist cinema. The film takes place in a futuristic city where a beautiful and cultured utopia exists above a bleak underworld populated by mistreated workers. When a privileged young man discovers the grim scene under the city, he becomes intent on helping the workers. He befriends a rebellious teacher which puts him at odds with his authoritative father. The film was directed the Jew Fritz Lang and produced by the Jew Erich Pommer. The credits of the films of the Berlin movie industry were also littered with Jews. In fact, in 1931, over 60 percent of German films were produced by Jews and 82 percent of film scripts were written by Jews. In the art scene, a thoroughly anti-authoritarian and communist movement called Dada arose. The Dadaist movement was comprised of artists who rejected the logic, reason, and aestheticism of modern capitalist society, instead expressing nonsense, irrationality, and anti-bourgeois protest in their works. Dadaist works opposed any type of authority and made fun of far-right figures, including Hitler himself. According to Wikipedia, some sources claim the Dadaist movement was founded by a group of Jewish modernist artists. In music, one of the most popular singers of the day was a woman who was largely regarded as “the first official lesbian of Berlin” named Claire Waldoff. Waldoff dressed masculine and made no secret of her sexuality while actively trying to convert other culturally important women to become lesbian. One culturally important woman Waldoff succeeded in converting to bisexuality was one of the biggest movie stars in the world, Marlene Dietrich. Marlene was famous for pushing social norms and sometimes wore a tuxedo, helping to erode the image of traditionally masculine and traditionally feminine roles. Marlene credits Clarie Waldoff as “introducing her to lesbian love”. Marlene Deitrich was openly bisexual and an icon for homosexual women around the world when no other homosexual icons existed. One newspaper dubbed Dietrich “perhaps the busiest and most passionate bisexual in theatrical Berlin.” Anita Berber was one of the most popular nude dancers of the Weimar Republic and danced to songs with titles like, suicide, morphiem, and mad house. One of her husbands was also openly homosexual. In one famous story about Anita, she was being ignored by one of the tables she was dancing for, so she went over to the table, stood on top of it, and started peeing on the table while drinking their champagne. What a gal… Architecture One aesthetic element that I think tends to be overlooked in most writings on social decay is architecture. It should come as no surprise that the principal architecture movement of the Weimar Republic—called expressionist architecture—also took a turn from an aesthetic focused on beauty and perfection toward an aesthetic that focused on “distortion of form to create an emotional effect”. This is architecture that’s generally perceived as hideous or repulsive. I’d also argue there’s a larger psychological component to this expressionist architecture. This ugly architecture contributes to social decay by glorifying the more disgusting elements of society and humanity. It subconsciously undermines the idea that society should strive for perfection and instead is a call to accept society’s more heinous elements. This repulsive architecture is, in my view, anti-authoritarian and destructive to social norms. Two of the key architects of the expressionist architecture movement were the Jews Bruno Taut and Erich Mendelsohn. Jews One of the key factors in Hitler’s rise to power was his opposition of the Jewish influence inside Berlin. As such, this article would be incomplete without looking at the Jewish influence that existed inside Berlin or—possibly more importantly—the German public’s perception of the Jewish influence inside Berlin. Here are some of the figures I think best illustrate the Jewish over-representation in the Weimar Republic. All these figures should be viewed in consideration of this fact: Jews made up less than 1% (.09%) of the German population in the years of the Weimar Republic. In my opinion, these figures are staggering primarily because of the Jews’ immense over-representation in major positions of power within German society. Politics • The author of the 1919 German constitution was the Jew Hugo Preuss. • One quarter of the members of the 8-person Council of the People's Deputies that established the Weimar Republic were Jews (Otto Landesberg and Hugo Haase). • The main competing faction against the official Weimar government was headed by the Jew Kurt Eisner. • The SPD (Social Democratic Party of Germany) was the political party that primarily ran the Weimar Republic. 22% of the entirety of the SPD were Jews. • The SPD’s main political theorist was a Jew: Eduard Bernstein • Two of the political thinkers most respected by the SPD were Jews: Ferdinand Lassalle, Leopold Sonnemann. • SPD's “foremost theoretician of this century” was the Jew Rudolf Hilferding. • SPD Key Figure, industrialist, and political thinker Walther Rathenau was a Jew. • The Vice President of the Berlin Police was the jew Bernhard Weiss. • In the first Weimar administration Vice Chancellor Eugen Schiffer was Jewish as was Weimar Interior Minister Erich Koch-Weser. • 15% of the members of the Reichstag (German Parliament) were Jewish. • A large number of the members of the political elite of the Weimar Republic were Jews: Rosa Luxemburg, Paul Levi, Ernst Toller, Erich Muhsam, Gustav Landauer, Eugen Levine, and Karl Radek. The Press • The Ullstein Press was the publisher of many of the largest German newspapers and was owned by the Jew Leopold Ullstein. • The Berliner Iliustrirte Zeitung was one of the largest German newspapers. It was Published by the Ullstein Press and its chief editor was the Jew Kurt Korff. • The Vossische Zeitung was another of the largest German newspapers and was published by the Ullstein Press. Its chief editor was the Jew Georg Bernhard. • Another of the othe r largest newspaper publishers was the Jew Rudolf Mosse. • The Berliner Tageblatt was the largest of Rudolf Mosse’s newspapers and its chief editor was the Jew Theodor Wolff • Editor-in-chief of the SPD’s party paper Vorwärts was the Jew Friedrich Stampfer The Arts • The Jew Erich Pommer was a German-born film producer and executive. According to Wikipedia, “Pommer was perhaps the most powerful person in the German and European film industries in the 1920s and early 1930s.” • In 1931, over 60 percent of German films were produced by Jews and 82 percent of film scripts were written by Jewish writers. • Two of the three key figures for the largest film movement of the Weimar era—the German expressionist movement—were the Jews Fritz Lang and Robert Wiene. • Two of the key Architects of the expressionist architecture movement were the Jews Bruno Taut and Erich Mendelsohn. • Some of the most influential producers, directors, & actors in Weimar cinema were Jews as well to name a few: Paul Davidson, Joseph Mandel, Jules Greenbaum, Max Reinhardt, Josef Von Sternberg, Fritz Kohn, Otto Wallburg, Peter Lowenstein. • To conclude the arts, some claim the anti-authoritarian and thoroughly communist Dadaist movement was founded by a group of Jewish modernist artists. Sex • Magnus Hirschfeld was Jewish. He was dubbed "the Einstein of Sex". He was president of World League of Sexual Reform and of course, founder of the Institute for Sexual Research. • Ivan Bloch was Jewish and is often called the "first Sexologist". • As quoted by Sir Arthur Bryant earlier, “most of them—the night clubs and vice resorts—were owned and managed by Jews. And it was the Jews among the promoters of this trade who were remembered in after years.” Other notable Jewish over-representations: (**Please Note** these next five bullet points are not official numbers and are from a NSDAP piece that was distributed in Weimar Germany. I'm including them because although I can't be completely sure of their accuracy, I think they most likely do generally represent the amalgamations of Jewish power in Weimar society. And, at the very least, these numbers represent the German public’s perception of Jewish amalgamations of power in Weimar society): • 56% of notaries were Jews. • 52% of doctors were Jews. • 45% of Hospital Directors were Jews. • 48% of lawyers were Jews. • 35% of dentists were Jews. One last note on the Jews of the Weimar Republic. I included a link with more detail below, but many Weimar Jews actively tried to conceal their Jewish identity and even went so far as bragging to other Jews when gentiles were unable to identify them. This is one of the reasons that, to this day, it’s somewhat difficult to identify who the Jews of the Weimar Republic were. What this means is that, although the identity of every Jew I list is verified, there are undoubtedly other prominent and non-prominent Jews I was unable to identify. The provided list should not be viewed as wholly representative of the Jewish influence within Weimar Germany. But even just considering the provided list, you can see the Jewish influence was substantial for a race of people comprising less than 1% of the total German population. This Jewish over-representation is even more substantial when you consider that many of these Jewish amalgamations of over-representation occurred within many of Germany’s most important social, political, and economic institutions. The Weimar Republic was often referred to as the "Juden Republic" (Jew's Republic) by Germans. I think it's easy to see why... Enter the National Socialists After Hitler’s rise to power in 1933, Goebbels and the Brownshirts began shutting down the homosexual dive bars that had risen to prominence during the Weimar Republic. They made one of the most popular homosexual bars in Berlin their headquarters after shutting it down. They pillaged Magnus Hirschfeld’s Institute for Sexual Research and Hirschfeld’s books on transsexual ideology were some of the first books the National Socialists burned. We’re often told Western societies are experiencing conditions reminiscent of the German Weimar Republic. But what exactly was the German Weimar Republic? I’d like to explain the republic…and its incredible levels of debauchery, meaninglessness, sex, drugs, and—of course—Jews. “The decay of moral values in all areas of life—the period of deepest German degradation—coincided exactly with the height of Jewish power in Germany.” -Karl Wiehe Background The Weimar Republic is the unofficial name—that was popularized by Adolf Hitler—of the German nation-state that existed from November of 1918 to March of 1933. It was named for the city of Weimar, Germany where the constitutional assembly that established the new German republic met. The official name of the republic was the German Reich. The Weimar Republic was established after Germany’s loss in WWI. Germany was forced under the Treaty of Versailles to accept “full responsibility” for the war and pay the debts of all the allied countries. Being forced to pay these massive debts devastated the German economy and skyrocketed inflation, unemployment, and suicide within Germany. At one point 40% of Germans were unemployed and many were homeless. In 1932, the German suicide rate was more than three times that of Great Britain and in one two-year period, Germany had more suicides than there had been deaths of American soldiers in all of WWI. The German currency became the most worthless currency in Europe. A loaf of bread in Berlin that cost around 160 German Marks at the end of 1922, cost 200,000,000,000 German Marks by late 1923. The German peoples’ life savings and purchasing power had melted away over the course of a few months. With a single US dollar being worth 4,210,500,000,000 German Marks by November of 1923, foreign currencies had much greater buying power in Germany. So naturally, foreigners flocked to Germany to take advantage of the cheap prices. With these foreigners arriving en masse, Germans desperate for work turned to one of primary industries the foreigners flocked to Germany for: the sex industry. Sex and Drugs Germans began flocking to urban hubs in search of work, and no urban hub was more popular than Berlin. Prostitution in Berlin wasn’t explicitly legal but existed in a kind of legal gray area where certain aspects of the sex trade were regulated while others remained unregulated. However, enforcement of any laws restricting prostitution was lax to non-existent. On any given night up to 100,000 prostitutes would line the streets of Berlin. Every type of prostitute was available: midgets, pregnant prostitutes who lined up on the street according to how pregnant they were, prostitutes that purposefully tried to be ugly, prostitutes with acid-scarred faces, prostitutes with missing limbs, mother and daughter prostitute pairs, dominatrixes, even hunchback prostitutes. Interracial, inter-generational, forced or abusive sex acts were all available for the right price. There was also a large male prostitution industry and homosexual men from across Europe came to Germany to pay for homosexual sex. And unlike most cities, Berlin boasted having not a single red-light district—but multiple. Child prostitutes were bought and sold in Weimar Berlin in a booming industry. Advertisements for child prostitutes were even placed in German magazines and newspapers. A person could order a child, or any other type of prostitute for that matter, over the phone and have them a few short minutes later. British historian Sir Arthur Bryant describes throngs of child prostitutes outside the doors of the great Berlin hotels and restaurants. Bryant adds, “most of them—the night clubs and vice resorts—were owned and managed by Jews. And it was the Jews among the promoters of this trade who were remembered in after years.” There were homosexual, lesbian, and even transsexual bars where, occasionally, public masturbation and orgies took place. These homosexual bars weren’t isolated or rare one-off outliers either, there were over 50 lesbian bars in Berlin and around 100 homosexual bars total. Drag shows and cross dressing were commonplace in these bars. Sexual acts involving torture or acts bringing a victim close to death, or even—in some instances—to death were performed in Weimar Germany (called Lustmord). German Newspapers devoted entire sections to the violent sexual crimes of these serial killers and fictional accounts of murders sold very well on German book stands. Serial Killers had a romanticized lore around them, similar to what we see in western society today. Alongside prostitution and homosexual clubs, porn also enjoyed a golden age during the Weimar Republic. Like prostitution, porn existed in a kind of legal gray area where enforcement of any regulations on it were lax to non-existent. Images could be purchased under-the-counter at most street media kiosks. According to one report there were as many as 30 homosexual publications on any given Berlin media kiosk. Above all, pornography featuring models who bore a resemblance to the biggest movie stars of the day, such as Marlene Dietrich or Greta Garbo, were in the highest demand. Fashion began to blur the lines between masculine and feminine. The female image began to experiment with a more strong-willed independent tone and some women began to dress in masculine clothing. Similarly, male fashion began to experiment with feminization and cross-dressing amongst men began to rise. Berlin’s women began to question the need for a man in their lives at all and many Berlin women had no desire to start or raise a family. Drug use in the Weimar Republic also ran rampant and Berlin gained a reputation as a drug dealing hub around Germany and Europe. Cocaine was the most popular drug in the Weimar Republic and only required a simple prescription from a doctor. That said, opium (a predecessor to heroin), morphine and amphetamines were all readily available and extensively used as well. The drug usage was so pervasive there was even experimentation with using drugs for “scientific” sexual purposes. One of the chief “scientists” behind this experimentation with sex was a man named Magnus Hirshfeld. Magnus Hirschfeld was a homosexual Jew and one of the thought leaders behind the sexual debauchery overtaking Berlin. Hirschfeld had founded political organizations that fought for the rights of homosexuals in Germany well before the Weimar era and as far back as 1896. He led the campaign to overturn a statue of German Law called Paragraph 175 which forbid homosexuality in Germany. Hirschfeld would later go on to write a 1914 book called The Homosexuality of Men and Women in which he attempted to prove homosexuality occurred in every society around the world. Hirschfeld’s crowning achievement of debauchery, however, occurred in July of 1919 when he opened The Institute of Sexual Research (Institut für Sexualwissenschaft) in Berlin. The institute’s stated purpose was to establish the sexual sciences…and establish the sexual sciences the institute did. It was at the Institute of Sexual Research where the initial rubric for the innumerable genders we see in leftism today originated. At the institute, Hirschfeld developed a system which categorized 64 possible types of sexual intermediary (aka genders) and it was Hirschfeld who coined the term transvestite in 1910 and the term transsexual in 1923. The institute even performed sex re-assignment surgery. The Institute of Sexual Research also housed a large library for any and all homosexual, transsexual, and erotic literature. The institute had places for homosexuals to stay overnight as well as some of the first counseling services specifically tailored to homosexuals. Homosexual-specific medical services were provided in the institute as well. The institute also housed the Museum of Sex, an educational resource for the public, which was reported to have been visited by school classes. I think the writer Luigi Barzini most succinctly summarized the rampant debauchery that was Weimar Berlin when he said: “I saw pimps offering anything to anybody: little boys, little girls, robust young men, libidinous women, animals. The story went the rounds that a male goose whose neck you cut at just the right ecstatic moment would give you the most delicious frisson of all—as it allowed you to enjoy sod*my, bestiality, homosexuality, necrophilia, and sadism at one stroke.” A debaucherous infestation had overtaken Berlin and nowhere was that more evident than in the arts. Art, Music, and Film Art, music, and film in Berlin were overtaken by the sexual revolution and a move toward a Jewish-influenced anti-authoritarianism as well. The Berlin film industry started releasing risqué and homosexual films. The world’s first known homosexual film—Anders als die Andern (1919)—came out in Berlin during the Weimar era and is the story a man falling in love with one of his male violin students. This film was written by and featured none other than Magnus Hirschfeld himself. Another film called Mädchen in Uniform (1931) is about a schoolgirl who falls in love with her female teacher. The two commence a forbidden love and eventually even share an on-screen lesbian kiss on the mouth. The film ends when this lesbian love is exposed and the protagonist attempts suicide. German expressionist cinema also came to prominence in the Weimar Republic. This form of cinema emphasized depicting the artist's inner emotions (no matter how crude those emotions may be) rather than attempting to replicate reality. Two of the three key figures for the German expressionist movement were the Jews Fritz Lang and Robert Wiene. The expressionist film Metropolis was one of the biggest films of the Weimar era. Metropolis’ content is emblematic of the anti-authoritarian and communist messages of German expressionist cinema. The film takes place in a futuristic city where a beautiful and cultured utopia exists above a bleak underworld populated by mistreated workers. When a privileged young man discovers the grim scene under the city, he becomes intent on helping the workers. He befriends a rebellious teacher which puts him at odds with his authoritative father. In fact, in 1931, over 60 percent of German films were produced by Jews and 82 percent of film scripts were written by Jews. In music, one of the most popular singers of the day was a woman who was largely regarded as “the first official lesbian of Berlin” named Claire Waldoff. Waldoff dressed masculine and made no secret of her sexuality while actively trying to convert other culturally important women to become lesbian. One culturally important woman Waldoff succeeded in converting to bisexuality was one of the biggest movie stars in the world, Marlene Dietrich. Marlene was famous for pushing social norms and sometimes wore a tuxedo, helping to erode the image of traditionally masculine and traditionally feminine roles. Marlene credits Clarie Waldoff as “introducing her to lesbian love”. Marlene Deitrich was openly bisexual and an icon for homosexual women around the world when no other homosexual icons existed. What a gal… Architecture One aesthetic element that I think tends to be overlooked in most writings on social decay is architecture. It should come as no surprise that the principal architecture movement of the Weimar Republic—called expressionist architecture—also took a turn from an aesthetic focused on beauty and perfection toward an aesthetic that focused on “distortion of form to create an emotional effect”. This is architecture that’s generally perceived as hideous or repulsive. I’d also argue there’s a larger psychological component to this expressionist architecture. This ugly architecture contributes to social decay by glorifying the more disgusting elements of society and humanity. It subconsciously undermines the idea that society should strive for perfection and instead is a call to accept society’s more heinous elements. This repulsive architecture is, in my view, anti-authoritarian and destructive to social norms. Jews One of the key factors in Hitler’s rise to power was his opposition of the Jewish influence inside Berlin. As such, this article would be incomplete without looking at the Jewish influence that existed inside Berlin or—possibly more importantly—the German public’s perception of the Jewish influence inside Berlin. Here are some of the figures I think best illustrate the Jewish over-representation in the Weimar Republic. All these figures should be viewed in consideration of this fact: Jews made up less than 1% (.09%) of the German population in the years of the Weimar Republic. This is one of the reasons that, to this day, it’s somewhat difficult to identify who the Jews of the Weimar Republic were. What this means is that, although the identity of every Jew I list is verified, there are undoubtedly other prominent and non-prominent Jews I was unable to identify. The provided list should not be viewed as wholly representative of the Jewish influence within Weimar Germany. But even just considering the provided list, you can see the Jewish influence was substantial for a race of people comprising less than 1% of the total German population. This Jewish over-representation is even more substantial when you consider that many of these Jewish amalgamations of over-representation occurred within many of Germany’s most important social, political, and economic institutions. The Altar for sacrificing the red heifers in Jerusalem has just been built, and they are saying the ceremony may take place any day as I've been warning about for many years now. But what exactly does this all mean? Let's talk about how it relates to biblical prophecy and how even most professing Christians are missing the deeper biblical narrative unfolding beyond what's just on the surface. The Red Heifer prophecy from the Book of Numbers involves a unique ritual for purification in Jewish tradition. A completely red heifer is sacrificed and burned, and its ashes are mixed with water to create a "water of cleansing" for those who've touched a corpse, which symbolizes purification from death's impurity. This commandment is linked to Messianic hopes and the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem. Jews are awaiting a Messiah who aligns with specific prophecies, such as bringing peace to the Middle East and the world through his political power. They believe Jesus didn't fulfill these expectations during his first coming, but we as Christians hold that He will achieve this in his Second Coming as He told the apostles and explained in Revelation 19. The Red Heifer ritual taking place now is seen as part of their preparations for this future era. We as Christians, however, obviously believe Jesus is the Messiah and see His rejection as setting the stage for the rise of their false messiah. John 5, particularly verses 43-47, where Jesus says, "I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him," The New Testament, especially the Gospels, tells a story of how Jewish leaders and many people didn't recognize Jesus as the Messiah, symbolizing a common human struggle to see divine truth. This theme is captured in John 1:11, where despite Jesus coming to His own, He was not accepted. This led to the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD, which was divine judgment for this rejection. Here's where people really need to pay attention as to not be deceived by this deception as most people will: I want people to keep in mind that God used rebellious, pagan nations such as Rome and Assyria as instruments of wrath against Jerusalem for her harlotry, illustrating His supreme sovereignty and His unique capability to employ the wicked to enact judgment on the wicked. What we are about to witness is a repeat of the judgement cycles on Israel. In the book of Amos, the prophet warns Israel of a coming "Day of the Lord" where they will face punishment for their disobedience (Amos 5:18-20). Similarly, the prophet Zephaniah uses the term to describe a day of wrath and distress that will come upon Jerusalem (Zephaniah 1:14-18). That’s what brought the day of the Lord, was their harlotry, God delivered Israel into the hands of their enemies because she played the harlot. And so it will be at the end, when the Great day of the Lord comes in the final days and the Lord God delivers Jerusalem, the harlot, into the hands of her enemies, which will ultimately be the beast and his kings as described in Revelation 17:16. If we interpret the Bible with the Bible, as we should, you will see that the harlot of Babylon, can only be Jerusalem. Let’s first look at Revelation 11:8 which speaks of the death of the two witnesses. “And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of THE GREAT CITY, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also OUR LORD WAS CRUCIFIED.” So obviously “that great city” is also where Our Lord was crucified. Now keep in mind the phrase ‘the great city.’ Let’s look at Revelation 14:8, “And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” In Revelation 17:18 we read, “And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.” So we can see in when speaking about Babylon or the harlot, the same phrase, ‘the great city’ is also used. In chapter 11 ‘the great city’ is identified as Jerusalem, and the great city is also used in chapters 14 and 17 when speaking of Babylon. If we let the Bible interpret the Bible, we can’t come to any other conclusion than that the harlot of Babylon is Jerusalem. Which also makes because Jerusalem is the only city that God would call a harlot, because it’s the only city that God ever made a Holy Covenant with. It’s the only city that He tried to make His bride. The martial analogy is used throughout scripture both with Jerusalem and Israel as well as the general body of believers who become part of Israel spiritually. The body of believers, both Jew and gentile make up God’s bride. And so there’s really no reason for God to call a city a harlot unless that city or the people of it betrayed a holy covenant with God. And there’s only one nation God made a covenant with, which is Jerusalem and the nation of Israel. Harlotry is not a reference to mere wicked acts, it’s specifically a reference to betrayal. I think it’s pretty clear that Jerusalem is that great city, Babylon the harlot, the unfaithful wife who has continually betrayed her marriage with God. And of course Jerusalem and Israel are referred to a harlot in Isaiah 1:21, Jer 2;20, 3:1-11, Ez. 16;1-43, and Gal. 4:25. Revelation 17:7 shows the beast initially supporting the harlot, symbolizing their alliance in the beginning. The beast's backing is key for the harlot's power, indicating they start off in a partnership where they rely on each other. The partnership between Jerusalem (Mystery Babylon) and the beast kicks off with a phase of mutual support, where the beast's political might boosts Jerusalem's position. This alliance, rooted in common goals, political gain, or perhaps mutual respect, sees Jerusalem siding with the beast, likely aiming to ensure a prominent and secure spot on the world stage. The turning point comes as an unholy, multi-faith gentile alliance, led by the beast, becomes "awakened" to the dark agenda of Mystery Babylon (the Zionist, Talmudic-led New World Order). This realization or awakening leads them to view Jerusalem not as a city to be protected or championed but as the source of crimes against humanity by Mystery Babylon, Jerusalem. This shift reflects a broader disillusionment with the initial alliance, as the true nature and consequences of Jerusalem's actions and influence become apparent to the beast and his coalition. Driven by their realization, the beast and its allies turn against Jerusalem, fulfilling Revelation 17:16's prophecy. Their initial partnership ends dramatically as they destroy the harlot, judging Jerusalem for her crimes and dark agendas. This act is depicted as complete and ruthless, demonstrating the intensity of the betrayal and the beast's deep hostility after the alliance dissolves. After destroying Jerusalem (Mystery Babylon), the beast and its allies bring about a short-lived period of false peace.
