Hasan Piker talks about his whiteness and the fact that in certain circumstances, his whiteness is stripped from him. He also discusses the Islamophobic New York Post cover that features his 'pound for pound' quote about al-Qaeda and further proves that he's not always considered white: "It's because my presentation is white. I'm a white bro. That's also part of the reason why I sometimes say certain things that non-white people are not allowed to say; I say it all the time, and then I am reminded of how some people perceive me. This is the interchangeable nature of whiteness; you can be given whiteness and you can have whiteness taken away from you. I think the non-Anglo Saxon Americans go back and forth on this concept. That's where the 'model minority' concept is designed around. I get to be the guy who says this stuff and reach the level of success that I have, partially because my presentation is white. I'm white and I know that. I try to use that to my advantage to highlight certain concepts, to offer a microscope on the plight of the voiceless, the plight of the marginalized."
