What felt particularly ungrounding was to be laid off just days after huge protests in Iran and the IRI’s massacre of civilians. My last story was about the buildup of US vessels & aircraft near the Persian Gulf. Iran is in a really important and delicate moment. For newsroom leaders to abruptly record scratch and cut off reporting on Iran is a bewildering decision & disservice to so many people. I spoke with Ben Rhodes on Crooked Media's Pod Save The World about the importance of international reporting and how these cuts will have long long longggg ranging ripple effects.
