A pretty succinct summary of how Pakistan defeated India in the air during operation sindoor. The Indian pilots never saw it coming, Pakistan was able to detect, guide and hit Indian fighters with impunity, through datalinks between AWACS and PL-15 missiles. The AWACS lower frequency radar didn't trigger the radar warning receiver on indian fighters, and was downed before they knew what happened.

If such an attack had occurred, Indians would have risen as one, and with their deep love and reverence for their sacred heritage, they would have torn Pakistan apart with their bare hands.
