We are launching a 90-day Drone as First Responder (DFR) trial to evaluate how remotely piloted drones can support emergency response & public safety. ℹ️ The trial will assess the effectiveness of drones in improving situational awareness, supporting operational decision-making & enhancing public & officer safety. Beginning Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, 2 Skydio X10 drones will be deployed to select incidents in northeast & southeast Calgary. The drones will provide responding members with real-time aerial information to help them better understand unfolding incidents & determine the most appropriate response. 💬 “The Drone as First Responder model has been successfully implemented by other police agencies & has shown potential to enhance emergency response. This trial will help us determine how the technology can support public safety in Calgary by providing responding officers with valuable information about an incident, often before they arrive on scene.” — Supt. Jodi Gach of the CPS Operational Support Division. The drones are deployed from a secure location in northeast Calgary. When an eligible call for service is identified, a sworn CPS member trained as a drone pilot can remotely deploy a drone to the scene. In some cases, the drone may arrive before responding officers, providing an early view of the incident that can help members identify risks, locate individuals & make informed operational decisions. WE DID IT! This morning, Council voted for reasonable rules for off-site Stampede tents. Stampede succeeds because Calgarians welcome millions of people into our city. That goodwill matters. It belongs to all of us. We want visitors, artists, workers, and businesses to have a great Stampede. This decision strikes the right balance. Calgary will have a vibrant festival scene while respecting the people who live nearby. On weeknights, concerts end at midnight, followed by wind-down music until 1 a.m. On weekends, music ends at 2 a.m. Calgary remains the most permissive major city in North America for outdoor music. We run later than Coachella, Lollapalooza, and other major festivals in North America. Thousands of Calgarians shared their views. Council listened. I also really appreciate the outreach from Cowboys management and commit to working with operators who respect Calgarians and their neighbours. Together, we will put on a safe, successful Stampede that brings people together. Stampede belongs to all of us. Let’s celebrate it with pride.

The Saint Paul Police Department has been using unmanned aircraft systems, or drones, since 2023. This technology provides officers with real-time information from above an active scene. Now in 2026, we’re expanding our drone program to help all first responders. Our team of trained drone pilots can now provide a live thermal view above a fire – allowing the Saint Paul Fire Dept to identify hot spots and develop the best plan of action. It seems to be ok to break aviation drone laws if you are in the club. Last year we saw Jim Gavin fly a drone in a red zone ⛔️ now we see a pilot operating over the crown on Achil island yesterday as Sam was brought across the bridge from the mainland. The drone hovers over the heads of hundreds of people including the cup itself and the Gardai. The IAA define a crowd as 13 people who have to be able to move, to avoid the drone if it falls. Does the drone pilot have an operator i.d ? Did he ask the consent of the crowd ? Does he have insurance ? Did he keep that drone in visual line of sight at all times ? Seems its one rule for them and one rule for us again. Up Mayo.

How a UAO "Targan" Ground Drone saved a wounded soldier from the 25th Air Assault Brigade❤️‍🔥 Donate here for Ground Drones: One month ago, we delivered one of our "Targans" from our previous CVN fundraiser to the 25th Brigade (see post below)! Now, this ground drone saved a life💪 One of the 25th Brigade units held their positions for 1.5 months! When the unit needed to move, one of the soldiers stepped on a Russian mine, and unfortunately lost his foot! Being constantly under Russian fire, the ground drone was the very last option for evacuation! They carried him on the ground drone at night, and the long evacuation way began! During the way, another FPV strike on the drone - with the soldier on top! Then a miracle call: He survived and could be saved! This also happened thanks to all supporters all over the world🙏 The story would not be complete without saying, that few days later, the ground drone was destroyed... however, not without having made a significant impact!
