Earlier this year, we began testing the Waymo Driver on Phoenix freeways in rider-only mode with our employees. Here’s a glimpse of freeway driving as we keep pushing forward to safely and responsibly scale our operations.

Will I win? In 2015 I made a bet with my father, an electrical engineer, that we’d have self driving cars by 2025. The main caveat he wanted - the cars can’t be restricted to specific streets or routes (ex. Trams, buses) I said- basically you should be able to order a car on an app, have it come pick you up and take you (not anywhere in the country) anywhere else in your city.

@Waymo @PeteButtigieg We need to make #AutonomousDriving on freeways mandatory and compulsory ASAP with all vehicles requiring retrofitting to be allowed on them if we are serious about #RoadSafety and #VisionZero like we mandated EV adoption

@Waymo Good progress! But, Tesla is Catching up with FSD quickly. I just had a demo ride with Tesla FSD latest version, man, it is very good. Is is better than Waymo autonomous drive 2022 in SF. Go Waymo go!

A true testament to the generalizability of the Waymo Driver. Excited to bring its proven safety record to freeways and unlock new opportunities for our riders!

This was the scene from our jon boat yesterday leaving our home to explore. Earlier in the day Easton and I took the boat out with oars only. What began as a teaching opportunity on rowing quickly turned into a service opportunity when we realized we could literally row up to the doorstep of some of our elderly neighbors. We docked, knocked, made sure they had essentials, and then rowed to the next home. Ministering to the one sometimes happens in unusual but meaningful ways if we just keep our eyes, ears, and hearts open to the needs right around us.

How are we getting ready to scale manufacturing? I’d like to introduce Darrell, who recently joined Hyliion to lead our operations. Right now, the team is actively building out our in-house operations capabilities across every part of the process: - Assembly. - Print operations. - Machining. - Electromechanical assembly. - Battery operations - Harness builds. - Testing. As we prepare to ramp up KARNO production, the focus is on building the operational foundation needed to scale efficiently, reliably, and right here in-house.
