Will I win? In 2015 I made a bet with my father, an electrical engineer, that we’d have self driving cars by 2025. The main caveat he wanted - the cars can’t be restricted to specific streets or routes (ex. Trams, buses) I said- basically you should be able to order a car on an app, have it come pick you up and take you (not anywhere in the country) anywhere else in your city.

@Waymo Look forward to the day when this is open to the regular riders!

@Waymo Can you make longer videos of things like this? We rely on @jjricks_ to see the capabilities of your cars too much.

@Waymo I hope with this testing, we won't have to wait that long for the service area to open up more.

@Waymo @PeteButtigieg We need to make #AutonomousDriving on freeways mandatory and compulsory ASAP with all vehicles requiring retrofitting to be allowed on them if we are serious about #RoadSafety and #VisionZero like we mandated EV adoption

@Waymo This is so friggin insane... To have cracked perception (safe perception) at these speeds is insane

@Waymo Hey guys this is nuts! Would love to be able to use it to get us to the airport later in SF if you could share an invite code that would make my holiday!
