Today, I was pleased to table Bill C-260, the Care Not Coercion act. If passed, Bill C-260 would create safeguards to prevent the coercion of individuals who are not seeking Medical Assistance in Dying. This bill stands with people with disabilities, veterans, seniors, and all those who have faced, or are at risk of facing, pressure toward medically facilitated death. Visit to learn more.

Their efforts changed the minds — and the votes — of elected officials and resulted in the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The power of the people is much greater than the people in power. We can’t wait for our leaders to act. We have to lead.
