How can NHS clinics offer a 'treatment' when they don't track the data/outcomes/benefits/harms/regret? And why are NHS clinicians failing to be honest and correct patient who present evidence-free 'magic thinking' that assumes that hormones/surgery can change biological sex, when it can't? Does mechanical thrombectomy actually improve meaningful outcomes in intermediate-risk PE? 🤔 In the STORM-PE randomized trial, thrombectomy improved RV/LV ratios at 48 hours—but clinical outcomes were essentially identical to anticoagulation alone. Mortality, ICU and hospital length of stay, and clinical deterioration were similar, raising an important question: are we chasing imaging surrogates instead of patient-centered outcomes? For now, anticoagulation alone remains a perfectly appropriate choice for many intermediate-risk patients. How will this study change your current practice? My dad wanted people to hear this message. But what he really wanted was for people to live it: 1. E+R=O applies to the biggest challenges in life just as it does to the smallest. 2. You can change outcomes even when you can't change the circumstances. 3. Even in the worst circumstances, there are good outcomes worth creating. 4. Just because one outcome is fixed doesn't mean all outcomes are fixed. 5. If you have the ability to create better outcomes, you have a responsibility to do it. 6. E+R=O is your greatest gift. Do what you can with what you have while you're here.

Yesterday, I made a motion on the Senate floor asking Randy McNally to appoint a conference committee to work on the Memphis-Shelby County Schools interventions bills so Representative Mark White and I can merge the House and Senate versions. Students at MSCS are hanging on like a hair in a biscuit because of chronic mismanagement in their school district. Rep. White and I are determined to get this done so we can finally improve educational outcomes for them. I will not back down to #MakeMemphisMatter. We have a city to save!
