Easily the most impressive uncut autonomous video I've ever seen, from Physical Intelligence

Love that this is the polar opposite of the BD video from earlier this week. Still end to end, still dexterous manip, but absolutely no model-based stuff. who is better?

@physical_int makes so much more sense. No legs just wheels and then arms to interface with human world.

@physical_int Its a very wide footprint, it would be hard to use this robot in most homes. plenty of room for humanoids still

@physical_int Nice. ~10 minutes to fold 5 pieces of laundry. Take an hour or two to do our family's laundry. Probably getting to the realm of "cheap enough for me to buy it" range in the next few years...

@physical_int 10x speed😭it's cool but makes me realize how long i'll have to wait still, given how annoyed i was watching how long it took with the purple shirt (even before i noticed the 10x)

@physical_int i'd pay unlimited dollars for a laundry-folding robot

Let's compare this with a regular "human" worker in India Average salary per hour:- 1.5$ per hour. This work can be done in <2 minutes by them Assuming the bot here compute cost would take .5$/hr, If this costs about 5000$ and lasts for 5000hrs This would be 1$/h(might be more) Cost for human- 0.05$ Cost for bot- 0.5$ If this bot is 5 times more time to do the tasks, this would equate to 15$/ per real human hour work(excluding electricity and other factors). Exciting times ahead, would need only an order of magniude more efficient

@physical_int This honestly is why i think laundry - despite being something people ask for constantly - is just not economical for robots outside demos. There laundry pickup/drop-off services in major cities in the USA that arent that expensive.
