Easily the worst interview by a Somaliland president, probably ever. - Why Somaliland lacks int. recognition? "I don’t know." *Giggles* - Whats your view on Somalia? "They’re our brothers, we've worked out a deal for free movement of goods and people recently." - What minerals can Somaliland offer the...

Just blunder after blunder. He also said: - Theoretically Somaliland is part of Somalia. - When I took office my goal was to create peace with our neighbours. So I spoke to Puntland (As if it is not a federal member state of Somalia) about peace. Terrible stuff to say 😣

Seemed like a good interview to me, old issaqs are not bitter because they never consumed the propaganda that young people like yourself whole heartedly believe. These guys remember a time when they were real statesmen under a real country 🇸🇴

it seems he never gave an interview before. They kept shielding him from Somaliland journalists. He could have been better if he gave interviews on the regular and not read from a paper. The most incompetent and under qualified people are leading this Somaliland.

Diplomacy demands more than a powerful speech. Somaliland’s cause deserves clarity, preparation, and answers—not uncertainty. Our national interests demand nothing less.

@ShuaybA128058 Literally dying from cringe. I hope Somalilanders frame him on the 19th. He wants the meeting to be GX meet and greet and photo ops but let's turn it into media day for questions on his xaabo of a cabinet.

I agree. That was one of the worst interviews I’ve ever seen from a Somaliland leader. He was completely unprepared, lacked the composure and knowledge expected of a statesman, and struggled to answer even the most basic questions.

This needed to be said. A great moment on Squawk Box. Joe Kernen calls out liberal panelist Andrew Ross Sorkin live on his own show after Sorkin claimed he didn’t know whether people celebrating Charlie Kirk’s murder represented a “left view or a right view.” Kernen’s point was pure common sense: It’s not exactly difficult to identify where much of the insanity is coming from. He immediately pressed Sorkin on some of the radicals he has supported, but Sorkin tried to deflect. That’s when Kernen brought up the loony DSA candidates, Hasan Piker, and Zohran Mamdani. And Sorkin suddenly had a guest to get to. SORKIN: “But why do you think the the the discourse has gotten as ugly as it has?” “And do you agree that it’s gotten…and do you think it’s ugly across…I mean, I think what, what what Joe just described is pretty ugly.” “And you I don’t know if that’s a, a left view or a right view or what kind of view it is.” KERNEN: “You really don’t know whether that’s…?” SORKIN: “I actually am not sure what…is going on there…” KERNEN: “With September 11th coming up, doesn’t…don’t you get an eyebrow raise with some of these DSA candidates and what they’ve said in the past about deserving September 11th?” SORKIN: “Oh, Hasan Piker, of course!” KERNEN: “And Mamdani, you say he’s the most popular person in New York. He’s anti-semitic. He’s on record. His wife is with these comments that are…” SORKIN: “I’m not defending him. I’m just suggesting to you…if you’re a Republican trying to run in this state right now, and I’m not talking about you, I’m talking about our previous guest…It is very hard to overcome.” “And, you know, I think as well as anybody, if you look at the polls in this state in particular, his chances are, and I’m sorry for his sake, very, very challenged.” KERNEN: “I know, but I just don’t think it’s hard to find where the the insanity on which side.” “Now, what, do you equate not wanting trans athletes in…is that the same type of nastiness…you think it’s…?” SORKIN: “We have a guest here, so I don’t know why…I don’t know why…” KERNEN: “I would deflect that, if I were you, I would deflect on that too.” Kernen stomped him and he knew it.

I’m honestly shocked by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s words. He claimed Somaliland wants recognition just because Britain once colonized it. That is false completely false. Mr. President, let me teach you something real. Somaliland’s demand for independence isn’t about colonial history, it’s about justice, democracy, and dignity. The so-called 1960 Act of Union between Somaliland and Somalia was never properly ratified. Its validity has always been questionable, and Somaliland has every right to reclaim what was freely given and freely can be taken back. For more than 30 years, Somaliland has built something Somalia still struggles to achieve: a stable, democratic, and peaceful nation. Somaliland held five presidential elections, local council elections, and a constitutional referendum. Somaliland people elect their leaders through the will of the people not through clan deals or chaos. Somaliland has defended its land from terrorists, protected its shores from pirates, and stood tall on its own two feet while the world looked away. Somaliland people just want to breathe the air of freedom they’ve already earned. So, Mr. President of Somalia, how dare you belittle that? Do you even understand what “union” means? Or do you think pretending to be a modern-day Abraham Lincoln will make the world believe your story? Tell us one thing you’ve done that has truly changed your people’s lives for the better. Just one. You can’t , because there isn’t one. That’s exactly why Somaliland and its people will never give up their rightful path to reclaim their independence.

To the self proclaimed gate keepers of Islam, does the condemnation not extent to the Arab world or is it just reserved for Africans? For decades Somaliland has tried to secure re-recognition and every country INCLUDING Palestine who seeks the same recognition have turned their backs on Somaliland. Where was the “We’re Muslim brothers” argument then? Was Somaliland suppose to continue allowing their people to die in poverty? The reality is people are dying from TB in 2025 in Somaliland. Even with that reality Somaliland has continued to donate millions to Palestine and Palestine continues to mock Somaliland and laugh at the struggles of her people. Somaliland has donated livestock to the Khaliji countries before their oil was struck which was literally keeping them alive while the rest of the world turned their backs to them and today many of their wealthy influencers and politicians are referring to Somalilanders as “hungry stupid people”. This narrative that is being pushed regarding Palestinians being relocated to Somaliland is as it stands false. They also were suggesting relocating Palestinians to multiple other countries including Egypt and Somalia. Why has the focus only been on Somaliland for months? Palestinians belong and deserve to remain in Palestine I do not wish for Palestinians to be relocated to any country - if that obvious opinion was not clear before. For now, the re-recognition is JUST RE-RECOGNITION. I pray it acts as a critical door that could unlock investment, security, and a path towards our ultimate goal. To our diaspora: From a place of privilege living abroad, it is easy to judge. Learn the context and history to make a well-informed opinion. To our locals: Be careful of the message you portray to the outside world. Be careful of ignorance. Optics are powerful and the whole world is watching us now. In Unity, We are poweful. #Somaliland #recognition
