Ed Davey: "Given the huge damage that Trump's tariffs have done to the British Steel industry... any member of this House that campaigned for Trump's election... has behaved shamefully unpatriotically & should apologise to British Steel workers."

Does @realDonaldTrump live in Ed Davey head as he is bordering on being obsessed with him as that’s all he talks about. He seems to have forgotten that he is a Party Leader of the UK not USA

Here’s what could get more expensive with Trump’s new tariffs.

We could do that but maybe you should apologise first.

When did he announce the tariffs? Monday? So in a week, Trump has crippled British steel? Ed Davey really is the most pathetic, inconsequential, ill-informed MPs I have ever had the misfortune of listening to.

Er @EdwardJDavey remember taking credit for the traffic light system that helped to knobble the shale gas industry? You are part of the problem, helping to ensure we're reliant on costlier, higher emission, low jobs and zero tax LNG. You should be apologising...

I don't think logic is a strong point for this buffoon.

14 years of Tory chaos and we’re left with a shattered steel industry—jobs lost, production down 80%, and exports crippled. They backed Trump’s tariffs, let our industries rot, and now they want to point fingers. Shameful!

What utter bollox, why does this far left globalist blame Trump on everything? It's the net zero scam thats killing our economy.

He's a muppet Tariffs were introduced less than a week ago, and only announced a month ago. That's not enough time to crash a solid business British Steel was not a solid business because of the UK's uncompetitive energy costs. These are a deliberate policy choice that Davey among others promoted. He should take responsibility for his part in this rather than pointing fingers The solution now is to scrap carbon taxes and recover subsidy and capacity market costs through taxation rather than through bills

You are having a laugh. It’s Labour who are pushing a green agenda and planning for us to have to import all our energy needs. We have the most expensive electricity in the world and this makes us unable to sustain industrial output. Stop scapegoating America for our politicians.
