Albertans have said over and over and over again, "No coal mining in the eastern slopes." The UCP government recently lifted the moratorium on coal mining in our mountains to avoid a lawsuit that they caused because of their own incompetence. This government promised to protect our mountains and yet here we are calling open season on mining and risking irreparable damage to our economy, agriculture sector, recreational lands and water. We need to keep up the pressure to tell Danielle Smith and her UCP this is unacceptable. We want mountains not mines.

They said it couldn’t be done… We had people doubt us… How can you build a desalination plant in the middle of a genocide - it’s too hard. It’s impossible to source all the parts… Weeeellllllll….. Thanks to you, thanks to the incredible efforts of our team, thanks to the will to be different and make a real difference…WE DID IT!!! The Sameer Project’s water desalination plant in the North is complete. During our pause in distributions and operations we went through testing of the plant and the quality of water produced. And we are ready!! Ready to produce new and more volume of water in the North. We will distribute this water ourselves AND give it out for free to organization who have capacity to deliver it to areas in need. Now we need continues funding to keep it operation: that includes fuel for the generator, maintenance, staffing of the plant - with your help this plant will basically pay for itself after a few months of operating and saved costs. Donate to our Food and Water Campaign to bring new water, additional water, to Gaza: Other ways to donate include: (Paypal option, please make sure to add a message saying "WATER") (Venmo option, please make sure to add a message saying "WATER")

The Israelis do not allow the Palestinian people to even have WATER. Only ONE DAY A WEEK are they given water, then the Israelis come by and shoot up their storage tanks they keep to try to have some water for the rest of the week.

Handri Neeva water is now flowing from Kothacheruvu towards Puttaparthi. 🌊💧 With the expansion of irrigation and drinking-water projects, a large part of Rayalaseema is increasingly dependent on Krishna River water. In the coming years, a significant portion of Andhra Pradesh’s population may depend heavily on Krishna waters. This is a moment for us to think ahead and develop alternative and sustainable water sources. We should not depend completely on a single river or water source. One river cannot be the only lifeline for millions. We must plan today for the water security of tomorrow. 🌱💧

Residents of Bronkhorstspruit, in the past several months our teams have invested in upgrading the water treatment plant with an effort to improve its efficiency. We are currently working with the National Department of Water and Sanitation to resolve the sludge problem that has for years affected the City’s ability to pump water to the treatment plant. We apologise for the prolonged water outage that has impacted the area for the past several weeks. We can assure you that we’ve placed significant effort to restore water supply. City of Tshwane

The water desalinization plant where our team pumps half the water we deliver from was bombed tonight by the occupation forces. Read that again. Israel bombed one of the only remaining sources of water in the entire North. The plant in Al Tuffah is where most water that is supplied to eastern and central Gaza City comes from. It’s gone. Yesterday we delivered 86,000 liters of water. While we await morning to come for a full picture of the situation we know some things for certain: there will not be enough water for everyone, the price of water per liter will increase from the inability to produce it, and the number of diseases from drinking contaminated water will immediately rise. From Martin County, KY to Delbarton, WV — the coal industry’s mess keeps poisoning our region, and politicians keep failing us. In 2000, Martin County, Kentucky suffered one of the worst coal slurry spills in U.S. history - over 300 million gallons of toxic sludge (loaded with arsenic, mercury, and more) flooded the waterways after a Massey impoundment failed. Rivers turned black, aquatic life died by the millions, and the drinking water for tens of thousands was contaminated. More than 25 years later? Many residents are still drinking bottled water. 96% rely on it for drinking because the tap water remains unreliable, with frequent outages, line breaks, and quality issues. They pay some of the highest water rates in Kentucky for water they often can’t trust. When disasters like the recent orange water crisis in Delbarton, Mingo County, WV hit, it doesn’t stop at the state line. These creeks and rivers connect all of us across eastern Kentucky, southern West Virginia, and beyond. The pollution flows downstream. The health risks don’t check borders. Some locals believe these incidents aren’t just accidents, they suspect old mines are being allowed (or even encouraged) to flood and discharge so companies can more easily extract rare earth minerals from the acid mine drainage and waste. While the world scrambles for materials for EVs, magnets, and tech, our hollows pay the price with orange rivers and undrinkable water. Whether it’s Kentucky politics dragging its feet on infrastructure or West Virginia downplaying blowouts and acid mine drainage, our mountain communities keep paying the price for decades of extraction. Coal built this region, but its legacy left us with ruined water, struggling economies, and broken promises.
