My childhood Hero with a capital H! More importantly, he was a class act. Everyone loved him for being a warrior on the field and someone you could look up to off the field. The world took a step backwards when he left us. Still miss him today.

Someone once asked him why he almost never ran out of bounds in order to avoid more wear and tear on his body. He said the yards on the sidelines didn't count.

I feel so fortunate to have watched Walter's career from start to finish...continue to R.I.P Mr. Payton...♥️

All these highlights leave out his blocking where he annihilated defensive players like no running before or since 🫤

Sad thing is, if Waldron had Payton on the roster, he’d still hand it to the back-up center.

What a great way to spend 5+ minutes. Payton carried the Bears for so many years before they became good.
