God is the father of the fatherless, it is by the Spirit that we relate with God as our since He poured on us His spirit and by that spirit we relate with him we cry to Him Father. It is no psychological matter.

My dad died when I was 8 years now I'm 40 something and I turned out very well. I turned to God Almighty as a replacement and I never missed my dad even to this day. God as my everlasting Father filled that void of growing growing without a dad very proper.

This is a big issue with young men I deal with especially with Drug addicts, the opposite is also true where the father is present physically but absent in all aspects, this is equally as harmful in any child's life.

Growing up with a father is overrated, I grew up with one, but I feel like my childhood would have been much easier and more joyful if he wasn't around

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” — Romans 8:14-15
