‘Egg Box Insects’ Taking apart egg boxes and using the many different shapes is a great sculptural challenge for all ages! You could do this from Reception right through to Yr6 and above with varying complexity. #ArtShaped

😮🤩 When Fiadh and I made our poppies and other flowers, we had a really good discussion about all the different shapes we could see in the egg boxes and what you could do with them. She really enjoyed exploring...I may have too! 😅

Yeah absolutely. When I do my 'zoom' workshop I did a little intro so the kids can see my brain 😅 and that's one of the things I talk about and show them.

😆😆😆 that's already my favourite tweet of the day. Tell her that if she has a go and wants to share to tag me in, I'd love to see what she comes top with, it helps to get some photos as reference, insects are stranger than we think so you need images to see clearly. 👍

@pepe_hart Wow wow wow wow 👌 💥😱

@pepe_hart Nice aren’t they 😮 this little tweet has gone around the world and back I think. 😆👍

@Wiggly_Path check this out 😍

Amazing ideas!

Thanks Mary, I think that sometimes kids learn more if you limit the available materials and they have to think about what fits and how to use what they have, a great eco message too, what I call 'pure making' using everything up, which is what I did on the one with the flowers.

Love how you do this one Darrell, it appears magically before the eyes from a starting point of a couple of bits of junk. Brilliant design work.
