I think it's a pathological liar kind of thing - they tell stories that fall somewhere between fabrication and delusion. And they speak with such confidence & authority that their electorates keep voting for them. Barnaby Joyce is a lot like Scott Morrison in that regard.

Yeh he knows it’s advisory. Just being in the constitution means politicians have to make it work rather than just sideline first nations peoples. They might make a whole lot of sculduggery around landuse in Australia more in the public square. Must make certain interests nervous
