Shoes already missing. No telling what he was up to before the cops got there. Mentally unstable. Might jump off the bridge. Might run out into traffic. Took several cops to hold him down. Finally passed out. Then passed away. Sounds like a classic drug cocktail problem.

Amazing how many crisis-response experts suddenly showed up in the comments. The guy was clearly high, erratic, and on an overpass. The Taser was used to stop him from potentially hurting himself or someone else. He later overdosed and died. And no, getting the officer’s badge number wouldn’t have changed a damn thing.

The officer no effort to try to deescalate the situation. You’re not going to force compliance with someone having a mental health crisis. There are techniques you can use to calm people when they are escalated.
