Based on comments with this post, Looks like the locals don't want any more of us living there. I have lived in San Antonio de Periera ( Rionegro) going on 7 years and not once felt " Not Wanted". On the contrary people are super friendly and accepting. Being respectful is key.

El Retiro and Rionegro (especially Llanogrande) is probably where we’ll live once we have a kid. And yes Vermont School is a great option, also take a look at The Columbus School (alto de Las Palmas)

There’s just one fact… there is only one small hospital to provide emergency medical care. So that’d be a red flag for those who have serious medical conditions

All those Colombians saying “don’t come” do not represent us. This place isn’t exclusive because of Americans, but because of strong management and well-planned housing. I lived in El Retiro for 5 years—it’s a wonderful municipality. People are warm, and we welcome visitors.

【📢Youtube: dunknatachai 】 #dunknatachai #dunkdunk 🌻: sawatdi krub i’m Dunk Natachai. i’m also an alumnus of Heathfield International School … previously i studied in the American system. however my family preferred a British-style curriculum and this school was also close to home. so i transferred here in year 3 : has studying at an international school especially Heathfield helped you in your career? 🌻the first thing is definitely English. whether it’s attending fan meetings overseas - collaborating with international teams or participating in events - english is naturally essential. that’s probably the biggest advantage i’ve gained. there are also things like the timetable structure - uniforms and the overall environment. the school is quite flexible and modern and those values were instilled in me naturally over time : how does it feel coming back to the school? does it bring back memories? 🌻i’ve been here since i was very young. from the front gate all the way inside everything feels familiar. the school has been redesigned to look more modern and keep up with the times but i still clearly remember its original structure and atmosphere. i’d also like to encourage nong students to consider Heathfield International School. i personally feel that it’s a place that can open many doors. no matter what your dream career is, there are many different paths available here. there are students who become pilots - doctors - actors… it’s incredibly diverse. no matter who you are or what your aspirations may be i believe this school can support and nurture your potential

While in Xihaigu, one of the poorest regions in China, I had the opportunity to attend an eighth-grade English class. I've always been curious about how Chinese rural children see the world and how much they know about it. Language is essential for understanding a country and its culture. Most Chinese students are familiar with Alphonse Daudet's "La Dernière Classe", in which a French teacher teaches his students the final French lesson before the Germans occupy the region and French is banned. In contrast to Daudet's story, Chinese youngsters in villages are now taught other languages to understand the world better and learn from different cultures. Yuanhe Middle School, which I visited, is located in Xiji County. The World Food Programme listed the region as one of the "most unfit places for human settlement" in the 1970s. On November 16, 2020, Xiji became the last county in Xihaigu to be removed from the poverty list; this was a tremendous victory for the region and the country. Most students at Yuanhe Middle School are "left behind" kids whose parents work in cities to make a better life. Taking care of rural children is critical to China's poverty alleviation efforts. The school provides boarding services and free breakfast and lunch to students, who can also video chat with their parents daily. The school provides outdoor hiking, technology and art electives, and foreign language programs to help local youngsters understand the outside world. This is a story of how better education changes the lives of rural Chinese children.

In the 21st century, I no longer see that a Polish king and not a French duke who is a military leader and not a Spanish queen and king will save Europe from the clutches of Islam. There is no one to save Europe. In the historical process in which Islam has been attacking Europe for the past 1,350 years, there is no one left to save Europe from itself. By: Ofer Binshtok. * In the battle of Vienna, against Islam, in 1683, the Polish king John III Sobieski, known as the "savior of Europe", moved with his army from Poland, as an aid to save Vienna and in fact to save all of Europe from Islamic conquest from the east. * In the 8th century, the Islamic conquest reached the center of France, the Loire Valley, on its way to the heart of Europe from the southwest, from Spain. In 732 in the battle of Tours/Poitiers, Charles Martel Duke of the Franks (the Hammer), defeated Islam and actually expelled it from France and thus saved France and Europe as a whole from Islamic conquest moving towards it from Spain. * Between the 8th and 15th centuries AD in the Reconquista, in the battles of reconquest, the Spaniards saved themselves and Europe in about 700 years of struggle to expel the Islamic conqueror. Until in 1492 AD, the armies of Queen Isabella and her husband King Ferdinand drove the rest of the Islamic conquerors back to Africa. * In the last 50 years, Islam is conquering Europe from inside, through immigration, with the help of the ignorance of the left and the European Union. Ignorance when it comes to understanding Islam and its goals. After the migration, at the appropriate Islamic critical mass, the Islamic sword will also arrive. - In the 21st century, I no longer see that a Polish king and not a French duke who is a military leader and not a Spanish queen and king will save Europe from the clutches of Islam. There is no one to save Europe. ------------------------------------------- Tareq Al-Suwaidan, Ph.D. He is currently among the most prominent jihadists. He belongs to the Muslim Brotherhood. A highly intelligent and educated person. He is well-versed in Sharia law, the history of Jihad, the Quran, and Muhammad's Sunnah. He represents the jihadist threat to humanity, and the free world in particular.

Mikel Arteta listing “six or seven” languages and then switching between them on camera looks like a flex but it isn’t. It is one of the quieter advantages that keeps showing up in the best managers. He speaks Basque and Spanish from home. Catalan because school in Barcelona demanded it. French because Luis Fernández told a young Arteta at PSG: learn it fast or you don’t play. Portuguese from friendships. Italian from curiosity and culture, not from ever living there. English forged across Rangers, Everton and Arsenal. Sometimes he jokes that Scottish counts too. That list is not decoration. A modern dressing room is a small United Nations. The manager who can speak to a player in the language they think in gets trust sooner, instructions cleaner, and emotion without a middleman. Arteta has said it himself: you can communicate without connecting. Connection needs the other person’s language. He starts in a signing’s mother tongue, then pushes English as respect for the club that hired them. He also uses it as a weapon. French to one player on the touchline, Spanish to another, English to the next. Clarity for his own, noise for the opposition bench. This is not unique to Arteta. It is a pattern. Arsene Wenger built Arsenal’s first great international side while speaking French, English, German, Spanish, Italian and later Japanese. Language was how he sold a project to players who had never seen Highbury, and how he made a dressing room of French, Dutch, African and English voices feel like one idea. Pep Guardiola carries Catalan, Spanish and highly functional English, and has always treated language as part of the method. The concepts are precise; the delivery has to be too. Players talk about how quickly the ideas land when the coach can meet them halfway. Jose Mourinho is the purest case. His coaching career began as Bobby Robson’s interpreter. Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian, French, Catalan. He understood early that tactics only exist once they have been transmitted. The Special One was, first, a translator who refused to let meaning get lost. The through-line is simple. Elite management is teaching under pressure. Teaching is language: the right word for “now,” the tone that makes a demand feel like belief, the private sentence that settles a new signing in week one. Wenger, Guardiola, Mourinho and Arteta all treated that medium as part of the job, not an optional extra. Plenty of coaches know the game. Fewer can look a player in the eye, in the language he dreams in, and make the idea feel personal rather than translated. That is the extra yard.

Some husbands offer flowers, bags or jewels... For my wonderful wife's birthday today, my present is: fish 😅 But not just any fish: a Malaysian Empurau, from the jungle rivers of Sarawak on the island of Borneo. The Empurau fish from Sarawak, whose name in Chinese - "忘不了" (wang bu liao) - means "unforgettable", is so special not only because it is rare, but because it's probably the only fish in the world which native diet consists of fermented fruits: fruits that fell from jungle trees down in the rivers where it lives. As such its meat has a subtle fruity sweet taste. It is also one of the only fishes in the world with edible scales: as you can read, one of the dishes prepared from the fish is "salt and pepper Empurau scales". Here in Kuala Lumpur we're paying RM 1,888 for 1 fish (about $430), which is actually a very good deal, these fishes often cost double or triple this price. It's more affordable in this restaurant (aptly named "unique seafood") because it's one of the only places in the country that sustainably raise empuraus in their own tanks. So not only it's cheaper but the fishes are much fresher too, and we're not depleting wild river populations. Verdict? According to my wife, who is a major foodie, it's the best birthday present she could have received 😊 And yes the fish truly is delicious, hands down the best fish I've had in my life (and I eat a LOT of fish): "unforgettable" is right! Sometimes the most memorable gifts aren't found in jewelry stores... they're swimming in the rivers of Borneo (or in our case, in the tanks of Unique Seafood restaurant). Happy birthday to the best wife in the world!
