It’s clearly not Easter time (it’s much warmer in Ukraine today, people wear shirts, not coats). And it’s definitely not about russian-speaking vs Ukrainian-speaking. Also, some context would be necessary. Russian Orthodoxy has been Putin’s tool, actively supporting the killing of Ukraine from the very beginning. Patriarch Kirill blesses Putin’s “special military operation” as Holy War. Naturally, in this light some Russian orthodox priests are not welcome in some communities anymore. Many parishes are split and antagonized within. Again, it depends on the priest, on the parish, on the part of Ukraine where it’s happening. All of this info is missing here.
