Look at the photos & video; a motley crew of TMC proxies spewing venomous slogans like, "Drive away the blood-soaked murderers; drive out Manoj Agarwal from Bengal!" and "Break and crush the blood-stained hands of Manoj Agarwal & Gyanesh Kumar !" The Conspirators are key TMC associates. They are targeting key ECI Officials like Shri Manoj Agarwal and Shri Gyanesh Kumar for simply doing their sacred duty; ensuring free and fair elections. Supreme Court is finally hearing petitions challenging the law on appointment of election commissioners. The matter has been pending in the SC since January 2024. In the meantime, current CEC, Gyanesh Kumar, and 2 Election Commmioners were appointed. After the Constitution bench judgment in the Anoop Baranwal case in 2023, the BJP govt had brought the law to replace the CJI with a cabinet minister on the selection panel for appointing Election Commissioners. With a 2:1 majority, the law empowers the ruling party to select candidates of its choice as Chief & commissioners of the ECI. Hope the SC upholds the letter and spirit of its landmark 2023 judgment.
