Malaysia has restricted new data centre investments not linked to AI for the past two years due to high electricity and water usage. Short-term energy needs can still be met, but potential strain on the national grid and electricity tariffs must be considered, said PM Anwar Ibrahim. This comes in response to a US statistic showing that data centres consume around 4% of national electricity and millions of litres of water for server cooling.

Finally! Canada will be taking steps to plan to double our electricity grid. Mark Carney: "Our objective is to more than double the size of Canada's electricity grid...and deliver more affordable power to Canadians." This is something I've been calling for. Canada's industrial economic expansion is constraint by our power grid. One of the most important projects that will be happening is the power line expansion is North West BC, which will also be all local industries. We need to do it ASAP.

Ghana currently has about 90% electricity access, making it one of the highest rates in Africa, and it continues to close the gap in electricity coverage across the country. By 2030, Ghana plans to achieve nearly universal electricity access, aiming for about 99% coverage, especially in rural areas.
