Electroplating #3dprinted PLA lattice structure and putting a car on it. I guess I can do some optimization and it could eventually work.🫣

Electroplating metal has no structure so it is as soft as anything. That was always the issue with electroplated items. If you remade the structure you have created with drawn tubes I bet it would support the car. But good luck soldering it together straight.

I'm thinking a mix of metals? Like do copper plating for a bit and then switch to nickel and then back to copper? I bet there's some kind of layer by layer "alloy" that would turn out to be much stronger. But this is very impressive by itself. That's really strong already!

Bold move! Optimize that lattice and you might have something strong enough. Can't wait to see what happens! ️

What could you use other than copper? And how much would it take? And then, what of you melted out the pla and electro plated the void as well as the surface?

change the material to this: 120kg/cm² pull and 1000kg/cm² have been survived before ,a latice structure will of course take less butt maybe enough to support the car.

Hollow core lattice ?

Funnily enough…I’m also doing this lol

Can you share the design for print🤙🏻

What if you just electroplate it for 3x longer?

well you suck at math so there's that 1/4 of a car does not weigh 600 kg unless you have a 2400kg car that is
