I don't compliment any China social media videos, because they all are propaganda.

Are they being sarcastic? In most countries I think cars are supposed to stop at pedestrian crossings. It's like thanking a car for stopping at a red light.

In Thailand pedestrian crossings don't mean much. And since it's quite hard to cross a street with that traffic, people stopping is really appreciated. Asian people just express it more often and openly.

They're crossings? You are meant to stop??

Here in Korea it's pretty regular for motorcycles to just drive through or car drivers to turn right - even when the crosswalk is green for walking pedestrians only. I quadruple check every time and do a head nod when they actually follow the law and stop.
