"In Between Days" marked a major turning point for The Cure. After the dark and introspective sound of earlier albums such as Pornography, Robert Smith deliberately set out to write a brighter and more accessible song without abandoning the emotional complexity that defined the band's music. Both "In Between Days" and "Inbetween Days" have been used over the years, reflecting Smith's own variations in the song's title. The track was released in 1985 as the lead single from The Cure's sixth studio album, The Head on the Door. Newark, NJ An investigation is underway after a shooting at a recording studio left two people dead and two others injured, in Newark on Wednesday. People who live and work on Clinton Avenue told Eyewitness News they often hear music coming from a recording studio on the block, but on Wednesday night, the music was drowned out by the sound of gunshots. The recording studio, Platinum Sound, is on the ground level of an apartment building, and sandwiched between a hair salon and a supermarket. One man who was shot died at the scene. A second man who was shot was pronounced dead at the hospital. Two other male victims were wounded by gunfire, and were taken to the hospital in stable condition. The victims have not yet been identified.
