Let's do the milk maths! Every infant elephant at our Nairobi or Kaluku Nursery drinks two bottles of specialist formula milk every three hours, day and night. In a single day, that adds up to 16 bottles of milk per baby elephant. (Wamata, Pardamat, and Mzinga, seen here, are three such Nursery babies!) Meanwhile, the older orphans at our Voi, Ithumba, and Umani Reintegration Units receive three milk feeds per day, totalling six bottles of milk per elephant daily. That adds up to… a lot of milk! In a single year, the orphaned elephants in our care consume more than 260,000 bottles — all freshly mixed by our Keepers. You can help keep an orphaned elephant's belly full by donating a milk feed via our Wish List:
