This all got a lot of traction in the late 90’s early 2,000’s and it made sense from the standpoint of trying to reach the unchurched in a post-Christian culture. The problem is it denies the power of the unadulterated preaching of the Gospel, and assumes we need to trick people into coming to church like an Amway meeting because the Holy Spirit just can’t draw folks to Christ anymore. It’s lost confidence posing as mission.

The story of the feeding of the 5k is a treasure mine for analysis. It is the only miracle besides the resurrection of Jesus that is found in all 4 Gospels. This story allows us to read it across each account and check for corroborative or contradictory details, that would allow us to validate it as a historical event or identify it as a fraud. What we find then in this particular story is very helpful

Today, I’m sharing something I’ve never said out loud 😊 Wherever I go,, any city, any countr.. whenever I step on a treadmill, I follow a ritual. At one point, I push myself to 14 km/hour .. sometimes more. But just before that, if there’s a CCTV camera, I look straight into it… and I say ten words. Exactly 10 words ! I’ve never told anyone what those words are. Maybe I never will.but I believe someday, someone will find them… and when they do, they’ll understand everything I could never explain. Maybe it will feel like a story. Maybe it will feel like love. Or maybe… it will feel like both. Did it again today ❤️
