So when the “fan” missed, they pretended he made it and won the money, only to review the footage and then take the money back because he missed. The fans were upset because they thought the team cheated another fan out of money even though he clearly missed. Do you think next time they should just do it for real and let an actual fan take the shot?

As part of a promotion the Dbacks had with Shamrock Farms, a fan was chosen at random before Sunday home games to pick a Dbacks player and an inning in which that player would hit a grand slam. Arizona resident Gylene Hoyle picked Jay Bell and the sixth inning, and sure enough, Bell delivered a grand slam in that inning. Bell, who did not show emotion very often on the field, pumped his fist as he rounded the bases because he knew he had won $1 million for a fan.

"Gunny Highway" returns to base. 🇺🇸 It’s not every day an icon like Clint Eastwood stops by, but back in 2019, he did exactly that at Camp Pendleton. Decades after filming Heartbreak Ridge on these very grounds, Eastwood returned to screen his film Richard Jewell for our Marines and sailors. He didn't just show a movie he stayed late to sign autographs and show his genuine respect for the Corps. As he put it, he’s always been a fan of the Marines since he was a kid during WWII. A class act and a true supporter of those who serve.

For millions of people, Gary Lineker is the face of Match of the Day, but for millions more he is also the face of humility, warmth and decency. He had the courage to defend the humanity of refugees and to speak out against the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza. That should be recognised, remembered and celebrated. He's a much older boy but he has started acting like a puppy for the first time with zoomies, rolling in the grass and non stop playing. I wanted to give him the best day of his life. A day that he would never forget. A day where he would lay in his little suite tonight all cosy and think "wow what on earth was that. How am I so lucky".
