Here's my first series of Anime created by Generative AI. Vidu 2.0 is a groundbreaking advancement for storytelling in the Anime style. #vidu @Viduforhuman Hi everyone 😊 😉 Here's my first AI-created Anime series. The name of my anime is Kuro & Yuki. I won't spoil the story for you, but it begins with these two boys locked up in what appears to be a highly secure institute/prison. Yuki has reached the age where he has awakened his power. While wandering the corridors of the institute, he meets Kuro, a boy with autism. It's a fleeting encounter as they end up being separated. As the story unfolds, you'll understand who they really are and why they are locked up. I don't plan on making episode 2 yet, even though I've grown attached to my characters' story. I'll continue the story only if a lot of people are interested and want to know what happens next. Otherwise, I'll explore other universes and styles of Anime 😉 Tools: - Epidemic Sound (For sound effects) - Vidu AI (to transform frames into animation) - ElevenLabs (for certain expressions) When I say Vidu 2.0 is a game-changer, I mean it. I had already made my animation with the previous version of Vidu, but when they gave me access to the beta, I urgently changed my plans and recreated all the animations. Let me tell you, it's a whole new level. My first animation was ultra frustrating to bring my ideas to life! Really! And since Vidu couldn't handle many image styles, I clearly couldn't bring my ideas to life. But with Vidu 2.0, I enjoy it much more! For the first time, I really get to bring my ideas to life! Until now, I always had to make compromises. Of course, Vidu is still not perfect, and there are still many obstacles, but it is a truly magnificent advancement! (and it surpasses all the Anime-style AIs I've tested recently) Moreover, Vidu 2.0 is fantastic for special effects, but also for embedding elements into the video (like a hand that appears and interacts with the character, or another character; and the best part is that they perfectly match the style of the original images!) * The animations/images and voices are AI-generated * The SoundDesign is traditional and done by me * The story was entirely written by me (I don't use AI to create my stories, it's important to me to write them myself) The voices were generated thanks to Nijivoice (for secondary characters) and Hailuo Audio (for main characters). I thank Yachimat (yachimat - AI Short Anime) for introducing me to Nijivoice, it's very generous of him! During the beta, we didn't consume credits, otherwise, this animation would have cost me around 20,000 credits, ha ha. Vidu 2.0, with its superb stability and fidelity to the style of images, offers brand new horizons for storytelling! One problem with Vidu 2.0 is that for now, you have to manually extend videos (by exporting the last frame). As you can see, this allowed me to create long scenes with different actions, and everything fits together perfectly! There are still many obstacles to storytelling, such as character consistency (I use the image to video function; I produce my images with Nijijourney) and it's always laborious to have a consistent character! The same goes for backgrounds. I want to post my animation The Ascent of Alfred this morning- animated in Flash and After Effects from Feb-Nov 2016 and released right before the election. This time of year reminds me of the thrill of bringing this to completion 8 years ago. It captures the meme magic of /pol/ in a way that no other piece of art does, I don't think.. that time was truly something you had to be there for; it's hard to describe the synchronicities and sense of divine intervention. Not only did I learn AE as I created the work, but I was also getting redpilled during those 9 months, emerging as a National Socialist by the time it was done. Releasing this piece a week before Trump's victory and having it screened at an event in NYC on election night as the votes rolled in was definitely one of my peak moments of existence. I plan on making something of this caliber again soon.. I can feel myself gearing up to it, especially as the AI has landed in my hands. Please enjoy, especially in the midst of a new, hilarious, and very memetic election cycle.

It just is, and I think that they're willing to give up certain kinds of morals that they used to hold, all because they've been deeply broken by the threat of Donald Trump, in their eyes. This is not someone who's just deeply flawed. He has a Nazi tattoo. He has a Nazi tattoo. And I think that that goes far beyond someone who is simply flawed. There are numerous things here, which I would say he is legally entitled to do, but I would regard as reckless and I don't mean legally reckless, I mean reckless in the common parlance sense of the term. He's carrying a loaded firearm into a zone of conflict with armed federal officers. I wouldn't do that. If I was... let's say that's not a decision he made, maybe he happened there by accident and somehow was not focused on the fact that "hey I need to be extra careful and not go this direction, because I'm armed and it could get bad," but then he steps in as the officer is behaving, I think in an illegitimate way towards this woman. Right, this officer shoves this woman to the ground and Pretti steps in. I would argue that's reckless if you're armed the way he is because of exactly the sort of thing that unfolds. I don't know that he had one in the chamber, because I don't know that his gun went off, but if the gun went off it says he had one in the chamber and I would say wow, that's really reckless especially with that gun."

But I do believe that we have the makings of a deal that's good for Ukraine, good for everybody and that's very important. "There's nothing more important", - my book. We settled eight wars and this is the most difficult one. I thought it would be in the middle of the pack. This, this is the most difficult one, but we're gonna get it done. We're gonna have a great meeting today. This gentleman has worked very hard, and is very brave, and his people are very brave. Hate to be that guy but it needs to be said. Tesla has not yet solved FSD and there is no guarantee it will be solved by June Don't misunderstand me, I'm not predicting it won't be ready. I'm simply reminding a specific group of people that seem to be operating under the assumption it's already a done deal If it was truly solved, we would have Unsupervised. Yes, it's incredible 99% of the time but cracking the code for the final 1% is excruciatingly difficult While we're on the subject - does FSD pull out in front of people and then take its good old time for anyone else? This is a behavior I'm really not a fan of and seems to happen regularly for me on 13.2.8 and 13.2.7 (AI4) We still don't have answers for sun glare - I watch an unhealthy amount of FSD videos and I still see this happening more than I'd like to Yes, snow is another story but initially this isn't really part of the rollout plan for TX and CA. Makes sense to solve for better conditions first Lane selection is still an issue where I'm at as you can see in this clip. Wish I would have had my camera ready for this but I was using FSD and the navigation just needed to go straight through the intersection. Instead, for no reason, it got into the left lane (left turn only) and stayed there. The fathers enjoy Westerns and the children give them an excuse to go. It's a shame that most persons feel they have to sneak in to see a Western by the side door. There's nothing wrong with anything being 'family entertainment,' you know. But now Hollywood has found it can pull a lot of people to the box office and make a lot of money with a lot of different types of pictures. Lately, they've been doing it with 'dirty pictures.' I don't like to use that term, but I don't know what else you can call them. I'm a Roman Catholic. But, I'm Irish, too. I think I'm fairly masculine and I don't think I'm a prude, but I do think there are certain things that don't belong on the screen. I wouldn't take anyone to see some of the pictures that are being put out today. I wouldn't even take them to see the billboards outside of the movie houses. These and other ads, lurid come-ons with half-naked women, are dishonest and cater to our worst instincts. They aren't making Hollywood any friends. When I come back from making a Western on location, I feel a better man for it. I don't think some of the modern trash makes anyone feel better for having read or seen it. I don't recall a Western which ever had to carry a 'For Adults Only' sign. When you go to a movie today, you feel guilty, as though you were going to a striptease. It all runs in cycles. Tomorrow, someone will make a picture about a boy and a dog and it'll make money and then everyone will start making boy-and-dog pictures again. Actually, I'm certainly not against sex on the screen if it's done in the right way. Many Westerns have a gusty sort of sex. And I think I made the sexiest picture ever, 'The Quiet Man' (1952). Now this was all about a man trying to get a woman into bed, but that was all right, they were married, and it was essentially a moral situation, done with honesty, good taste, and humor. These things are all fundamental to a good Western, too. In a Western, you can make a strong picture which is reasonably adult, yet a man can still take his children to see it, which is the way it should be. After all, we're not in the burlesque business." This might be the best "AI Engineer" I've tried so far. ​ I'm an old school developer who started 30 years ago. I feel very uncomfortable letting AI take control of my code, but for the sake of science, I spent two hours building an application that took me weeks to build a couple of years ago. ​ I used Pythagora, a brand new tool backed by Y Combinator. They just released to the public. ​ Keep in mind that I use AI every day to write code, but Pythagora is something different: it's a tool that leads, and uses you—the human—as the copilot. ​ I go into more details in the video, but here is the TLDR; ​ 1. Holy molly! We've made a ton of progress on this front! This is way better than Devin when I tested it a few months back. ​ 2. Love the approach of generating a plan with sub-tasks before writing any code. ​ 3. The tools never tries to do too much: it tackles every small task one at a time, and gives you instructions so you test everything. ​ 4. It does exactly what you'd do when it gets stuck: writes a bunch of logs and uses those to correct itself. Pretty neat! ​ 5. It's fast. It runs locally. It's an extension to Visual Studio Code. ​ I'm impressed, but I don't think this tool is for me. ​ I'm not the type of developer who's ready to relinquish control. I felt I had no connection with the code because I didn't write it. It was not my code. ​ I know many people who don't care about this. I know many people who will get tremendous value out of Pythagora. I hope they keep pushing the limits, providing feedback, and helping this get to a point where old folks like me feel more comfortable using it. ​ Don't take my word for it. The best thing you can do is to give it a try and see how you feel using it. ​ Thanks to the team who built this, for all of the explanations and support, and especially, for sitting and listening to my dumb questions for 2 hours while I tested this.

It wasn't the best. If you use it on VFX heavy sprites, it would start falling apart - either via grain/artifacts, or displacement. But I just couldn't give up. I knew I needed something more. This was the limit the models could give me. So I consulted science: Zheng et al., "Bilateral Reference for High-Resolution Dichotomous Image Segmentation" (CAAI AIR 2024, arXiv:2401.03407) - BiRefNet If any of the brilliant minds who wrote this paper read this post, I'm extremely thankful for your research. It made me solve a really big problem with 2D sprites, and I'm extremely grateful! Thank you! Please reach out if you see this! Now, how does this solution work: 1⃣ Generate your Kling animation (still king for anime 2D style). 2⃣ Run BiRefNet (HR-matting variant rocks) → get solid character alpha. 3⃣ Compute simple brightness/luminance alpha (luma → alpha curve, easy in any tool). 4⃣ Final alpha = max(BiRefNet_alpha, brightness_alpha) — that's it. No fancy weights needed. 5⃣ Feed to your engine / Comfy / whatever. Dynamic lights now play nice with zero artifacts. Mind you, this solution requires an nVidia GPU to run local inference. Alternatively, you can get it done on Colab likely with the free tier! You can try CPU, but no guarantees. Try a lighter model like BiRefNet_lite-2K.
