The tiny office and light sleep seems to work wonders for Elon.

Elon Musk has a similar sleep schedule to me, 6 hours per night. I don’t work 18 hours though. That is insane.

It usually takes us about 9 months to find out Elon took a break from work.

Elon Musk: I became very good at manufacturing because I had to, there was simply no choice. At this point, I might know more about manufacturing than any human ever has because I've manufactured so many different things in so many different arenas. I think probably more than anyone ever has. I sleep about six hours on average, and I work almost every waking hour. I don't have social dinners, really. I literally just thought I will have lunch and dinner brought in during meetings and just continue meeting. I guess I started out with the first internet company we built. We were able to rent an office in what was essentially a leaky attic for five hundred dollars a month, and the cheapest apartment we could find was eight hundred dollars a month. We only had about five thousand dollars between my brother and I, so we decided we would just stay in the office. We got some couches that converted into beds, and we would sleep at night and then just turn the beds back into couches before anyone came in. Then we would shower at the YMCA down the road. That literally was what we did for several months.

Brawadis reveals he made a commitment to visit his girlfriend Jasmine every day during her 1 hour lunch break at work so they could spend time together. "I just imagine she's like by herself sitting in the break room having lunch all alone, and I don't like that. So every single day I make it a point to change my schedule around so that I can drive over to her work and hang out with her for one hour on her lunch. And we go and we eat together, we spend time together just so she never spends her lunch breaks alone."

ELON: HERE’S HOW I BECAME VERY GOOD AT MANUFACTURING “It's not as though I wanted to insource manufacturing, it's just that I was unable to outsource it effectively. The idea, at the beginning of Tesla, was that we would outsource almost all the manufacturing. But then it turned out there were no good companies to outsource manufacturing to. Really, it wasn't feasible. Over time, we had to insource almost everything for Tesla and the same for SpaceX. I became very good at manufacturing because I had to. There was no choice. At this point, I might know more about manufacturing than any human ever has because I've manufactured so many different things in so many different arenas.” Source: Verdict Podcast with Ted Cruz, March 2025

ELON: PEOPLE WILL HAVE A HIGHER STANDARD OF LIVING IN AN AI WORLD Ted Cruz: “If AI will be smarter than any person, how many jobs will go away because of that?” Elon: “Goods and services will become close to free. It's not as though people will be wanting in terms of goods and services. You have tens of billions of robots that will make you anything or provide any service you want for basically next to nothing. It's not that people will have a lower standard of living, they'll actually have a much higher standard of living. The challenge will be fulfillment. How do you derive fulfillment and meaning in life?” Source: Interview with Ted Cruz, March 2025

TED CRUZ DODGES WHEN ASKED ABOUT THUNE GETTING BOOED: “WE JUST HAD A TERRIFIC PRESS CONFERENCE ON COLLEGE SPORTS.” When Alison Steinberg asked for Senator Ted Cruz's reaction to Leader John Thune being booed at the RNC Midterm Convention, Cruz pivots: “I think we just had a terrific press conference on college sports.” Then, asked when the SAVE America Act will actually get done: “I certainly hope so, and I continue to fight for it.” And has Cruz seen or spoken to U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell during his months-long absence from the Senate? “I have not.” Alison follows up with one final question: “Do you think he’s still alive?” Cruz does not respond.
