Elon Musk: Citizen journalism is the Future....I really encourage everyone out there to write stuff on 𝕏 or any other platform.. 𝕏 is where citizen journalism actually happens....News by the people, for the people What makes this moment transformative is that the public decides what matters Legacy media is controlled by a small group of editors-in-chief who decide what gets published.... 𝕏 flips that model completely

ELON MUSK EXPLAINS WHY 𝕏 IS BECOMING THE ULTIMATE PLATFORM FOR TRUTH Something is broken in modern journalism Legacy media was built for a world where information had to be centralized, filtered by editors, printed on paper, and distributed to the public That world no longer exists Today, anyone can access information instantly. We no longer need a handful of editors deciding what matters and what does not This is why 𝕏 represents the future It enables citizen journalism, news by the people, for the people What makes this moment transformative is simple The public now decides the narrative The public decides what matters Legacy media concentrates power at the top Citizen journalism distributes it to everyone That shift is fundamental And it is why Elon encourages people to write, share, and report directly on 𝕏 Journalism is not dead It is being rebuilt by the public

Elon Musk: Citizen journalism is the future — The aggregate voice of the people gets to decide the narrative of what is newsworthy, not a handful of editors-in-chief. Journalism of the People, by the People, for the People. I encourage everyone to write on 𝕏

You’ve got the internet, so anyone can learn anything at any time. That’s why 𝕏 is the future. It's citizen journalism, where you hear from the people, by the people, for the people… That’s why I really encourage everyone out there to write stuff on 𝕏.” says Elon Musk.

ELON: CITIZEN JOURNALISM IS A SUPER BIG DEAL “Legacy media is from a time when, in order to learn any news, you had to aggregate the news to some central publication. And then, some editor would decide what people should hear, and then they'd print the newspaper with a lot of paper literally, and then distribute that paper. And that's how you learned things. But you obviously don't need that anymore. You've got the Internet, so anyone can learn anything at any time. That's why 𝕏 is the future. It's citizen journalism, where you hear from the people. It's by the people, for the people. That's what it's all about. This is a super big deal, and it's absolutely fundamental and transformative that the people actually get to decide the news and the narrative and what matters. The legacy media is basically controlled by a handful of editors-in-chief. That's it. They decide what's going to get published. That's why I really encourage everyone out there to write stuff on the 𝕏 platform and other platforms too. Citizen journalism is the future.” Source: Lancaster, Pennsylvania, October 2024

Elon Musk: Something's wrong with the press. Citizen journalism is the future. “The far-left press has been going on and on about how Trump is like Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin combined, and you rolled them all into one, and he's somehow worse than all three of them combined. These are people who have killed tens of millions of people. Something's wrong with the press, guys. Journalism is dead. What the heck is going on? It's bizarre. That's why 𝕏 is the future. That's why I really encourage everyone out there to write stuff on the 𝕏 platform and other platforms too. But citizen journalism is the future. That's where you get to hear from actual experts in the field, people who are experts in any given industry. And you get to hear the rebuttal. If somebody says something that's wrong or requires more context people can add that. 𝕏 has got community notes, which is great. Community notes, I think, got a very good batting average. It's not perfect, but it's got a very good batting average.” Lancaster, Pennsylvania, October 26, 2024

Elon says legacy media is losing its grip because the old model no longer makes sense. For decades, news had to pass through a few central publications, a few editors, and a few people deciding what everyone else was allowed to hear. Now the internet broke that gatekeeping system, and he argues X is where journalism is heading next. “This is why X is the future. It is citizen journalism. It is by the people for the people. The people actually get to decide the news and what the narrative and what matters.” The press spent years demanding trust while treating ordinary people like passive consumers. Writer: Sol

Elon Musk says legacy media was built for a world where information had to pass through a central publication. The internet changed that. Musk argues that people can now hear directly from millions of others around the world, without relying on a single editor to decide what matters. “That’s why X is the future.” His vision is simple: citizen journalism where the people help decide the news, the narrative and what deserves attention.

Elon Musk: The cumulative voice of the people should decide what's newsworthy. “In times past, we didn't have the technology for this, so the only way to learn news was for it to be filtered through a small number of news organizations and then to be printed in newspapers or broadcast. There wasn't really any way that people could speak to each other or communicate with each other. But now there is, because people can be online. I'm a big believer in citizen journalism being actually way better. At first, citizen journalism may sound like, well, doesn't that mean just a whole bunch of amateurs are doing journalism? No, actually, it's way better because if you have actual experts in the field saying things that's way better than a journalist, if you have people who are actually at the event, live. Look at the attempted assassination of President Trump, people actually at the event live, doing video, people are reporting it. That's the kind of thing that is actually far better information than filtering it through a small number of publications, which ends up being controlled by maybe five editors-in-chief. There's like five people that control the news. And even though there are multiple newspapers, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, a few others, they decide what is newsworthy. But that should not be how it works. It should be the voice of the people, the cumulative voice of the people should decide what is newsworthy.” Philadelphia, October 18, 2024

X and citizen journalism is the future. Legacy media once controlled the narrative, but those days are over. On X, a single citizen with a phone can out-report entire newsrooms. That’s why the establishment fears it, because truth is no longer filtered, censored, or spun. Decentralized journalism means power is shifting back to the people, and real democracy finally has a voice.

Elon Musk: “I think for many in the public, they don't quite realize just how much, deception is really going on with the media. The biggest deception is the choice of narrative. The media can write a story about this or that, but only a few stories can go on the front page So you’re deciding what people should pay attention to. Instead of it being what people actually care about, it’s what a handful of editors care about. They’re telling the people what to pay attention to”
