Elon Musk: “Free speech is the bedrock of Democracy, and if people don’t know what’s going on, if they don’t know the truth, how can they make an informed vote? You must have free speech in order to have Democracy. That’s why it’s the First Amendment, and the Second Amendment is there to ensure that we have the First Amendment… President Trump must win to preserve the Constitution. He must win to preserve democracy in America”

ELON: FREE SPEECH IS THE FOUNDATION OF A REAL DEMOCRACY Elon lays out a point that shouldn’t be controversial… but somehow it is. He argues that you don’t get a healthy democracy by managing speech, filtering opinions, or deciding which ideas people are “allowed” to hear. Once speech is controlled in the name of safety, the system stops correcting itself and starts lying to itself. Bad ideas aren’t defeated by censorship, they’re defeated by exposure, debate, and reality. Elon’s warning is simple: when speech is suppressed, voting becomes performance art and trust collapses. Free speech isn’t a risk... losing it is. “I think it's very important for there to be an inclusive arena for free speech. It’s important that people have the reality and the perception that they are able to speak freely within the bounds of the law. A good sign is someone you don't like allowed to say something you don't like, and if that is the case then we have free speech. That is a sign of a healthy, functioning, free speech situation.” Source: EM Clips (YouTube)

The situation in Brazil is getting ugly, with X and Elon Musk fighting for the right of the people of Brazil to voice their free speech. The problem, though, is that the highest court in the land says that some of this free speech is not legal speech. Musk doesn't get enough credit for his free speech advocacy, but at the same time, he did say that X will obey the laws of the countries where people reside. So who should decide if speech is or is not in line with the laws of Brazil? Should it be Elon Musk and his lawyers or should it be the highest court in Brazil? Even if they are misinterpreting their own laws, who should decide that? What are your thoughts?

.Elon Musk: "It's bizarre that we've come to this point where free speech used to be a liberal value. And yet we see from the 'left' a desire to censor. That seems crazy. I think we should be extremely concerned about anything that undermines the First Amendment... We must protect free speech, and free speech is only relevant when it's someone you don't like saying something you don't like because, obviously, free speech that you like is easy. The thing about censorship is that for those who would advocate it, just remember at some point that will be turned on you."

Elon Musk: There's a weird movement to quell free speech around the world. We should be concerned about that. “Why was the First Amendment a high priority? Number one is because people came from countries where if you spoke freely, you would be imprisoned or killed. And they were like, we would like to not have that here, because that was terrible. And actually, there's a lot of places in the world right now, if you're critical of the government, you get imprisoned or killed. We'd like to not have that.” Source: All-In Summit, September 9, 2024

ELON MUSK: THE WOKE MIND VIRUS IS PUSHING CIVILIZATION TOWARD SUICIDE "I think we need to be very cautious about anything that is anti-meritocratic and anything that results in the suppression of free speech. Those are two of the aspects of the woke mind virus that I think are very dangerous: that it's often anti-meritocratic, and you can't question things even the questioning is bad. So, another way to almost name it would be "cancel culture" At least think of myself as a moderate. I've spent a massive amount of my life energy building sustainable energy, electric vehicles, batteries, and solar to help save the environment

🚨ELON MUSK: "I think free speech is existential to the United States and to Democracy. If you don't have freedom of speech, you don't have Democracy. If you don't have freedom of speech, people can't make an informed vote. If they're just being fed propaganda, and there's no freedom of speech, democracy is an illusion. Freedom of speech is the bedrock of Democracy. That's why it's the first amendment. Once you lose freedom of speech, you lose democracy, game over. That's why I bought Twitter." 🫳🎤🔥

Elon Musk on why the First Amendment is so important. "It's because people came here from places where if they spoke their mind, they'd be put in prison or k*lled, or just shut out from society. Ostracized. So freedom of speech is absolutely fundamental to a good future."

Elon Musk was right, this is exactly what’s happening in the UK and European Union countries ‌ “Why is Freedom of Speech the First Amendment? It’s because people came from countries where if you spoke freely, you would be imprisoned or killed” ‌ “Most parts of the world, you can't really say what you wanna say without some bad consequences”
