@elonmusk Hydrogen should’ve and could’ve been used. The automakers don’t want something as cheap as hydrogen being used though. They want you to pay $30k for replacement batteries in electric vehicles.

The Tesla Model 3/Y produced in the 2017-2024 timeframe all have just an air conditioning vent in the back. But it would be great to turn it into a smart screen that can watch movies, play games and other controls.

@elonmusk Cars can even be fueled by water. Someone did it and drove from East to West coast in the US using only water and weeks later they tried to poison him lol

@elonmusk Can’t see why - Hydrogen is NOT an energy source, since we have to generate it - it’s essentially just another form of battery… and current storage isn’t dense enough to make it really viable.

@elonmusk Hydrogen is much too expensive to make, much too expensive to transport and much too expensive to store. Maybe for very large machines like transport ships.

@elonmusk What if we made cars that run on water man?

@elonmusk Hydrogen requires a lot of electricity in order to make it. It's not efficient in that respect. Might as well just use electricity to power our vehicles rather than use even more electricity to make hydrogen just to get the same amount of power out of it.

@elonmusk That might be a good alternative, I'm not sold on EVs as a long term solution.

@elonmusk I bought my first solar car in 2005 . Shoestring budget. Similar timeframe with first solar house. But I’ve been saying since the late 90s that they will go hydrogen with the cars. It’s just taken longer than planned.
