Something really cool happened in swimming this week. After 16 years, the 50m free world record got broken by Australian swimmer McEvoy. What’s very interesting is the approach he has been following for a few years now. Super low volume (2-3 sessions per week, less than 1000m per sessions which some swimmers do more than just for warm up) in a pool with cameras and other devices to track different values and of course getting stronger with weights.

Predicting how the environment changes over time is a key task in robotics, enabling all kinds of downstream tasks. Trace Anything is a very interesting look at how you can train models which predict the trajectory each point will take in the future -- you can use this for robot manipulation, video prediction, and more. Kinew: "I think the American president is very vulnerable right now. The cost of living is a political disaster for Donald Trump. And a lot of people in Canada are saying in order for us to get a CUSMA deal, we should give him a win. But I'm wondering whether we should."

There will never be another Elon Musk. Love him or hate him, the man has changed technology, space travel, communication, transportation, and the way people think about what’s possible. Very few people in history have pushed humanity forward on that many fronts at once. The dude is one of a kind!

President Carter’s time on this earth is coming to an end according to his grandson Jason Carter. What a great man. At 99 he has accomplished so much. With an election coming up let’s remember all he has done for voting rights. Jason Carter: "My grandfather is doing okay. He has been in hospice, as you know, for almost a year and a half now, and he really is, I think, coming to the end. I’ve said before, there’s a part of this faith journey that is so important to him, and there’s a part of that faith journey that you only can live at the very end and I think he has been there in that space."

ADMIN POST. Starmer to Trump: I'm “very proud” “we’ve had free speech in the United Kingdom for a very, very long time and it will last for a very, very long time”. Police as they drag man from home in handcuffs: "Someone has been caused anxiety by your social media page".

Yesterday we celebrated 10 years of IOTA during #TOKEN2049 A decade filled with challenges and breakthroughs. Every step shaped us. Now, we enter the next chapter stronger than ever. I am proud to be a part of this amazing team! ❤️ With our Move-based L1, we finally have the technical foundation to bring global trade on-chain and unlock real use of tokenized assets in DeFi. I’m excited for what’s next. Our roadmap is packed and I believe the next years will outshine everything we have done so far.

🇨🇳🚄I did get a guide. It’s not actually 100% necessary because most signs are in English and in Chinese. So we were introduced to the much vaunted 🏎️automobiles of China! Our little minivan wasn’t a fancy BYD car, but it had a back massager and was very well appointed and comfortable. We saw Teslas, Range Rover’s, Mercedes, all the top EVS of China (oh yes, they are cool!!)😳😁 (Elon Musk — everybody ❤️😍 Tesla!) But we had a very interesting little discussion in China about something that nobody in the west thinks exists in China: competition! But at the same time, the issue is success for the broadest number of people. 🇺🇸 It’s funny, in the United States we have this term, “the General Welfare”. It means the same thing. We are getting to see it play out in real practice. Don’t worry, I have some criticisms, but I think the discussion here is very good. Pay attention! This is not some CP propagandist but just a guy who is happy to show us his country. What’s going on in your country?
