ELON: SELF-DRIVING IS A SOLVED PROBLEM “I think self-driving cars are essentially a solved problem at this point. Tesla has rolled out a robotaxi service in a few cities, and it will be very, very widespread by the end of this year within the U.S.” Source: CNBC

I'm 65, no accidents in decades, but very happy to turn driving over to the vehicle. This is a win for humanity.

Elon dropping that robotaxi bombshell at Davos—self-driving basically solved, Tesla rolling it out in a few cities now and going super widespread across the US by end of 2026? 🚀🤯

im not getting in one of those things until I see some crash test dummies survive first but itd be nice if uber drivers got an attitude upgrade

“I think self-driving cars are essentially a solved problem at this point.

Hey @elonmusk ur a bit late. Waymo’s have been around for a while.

Self-driving solved, a new lane to wealth.

His promises are worth what exactly?

👍Elon

Elon declaring self-driving a solved problem, with Tesla's Robotaxi rolling out widespread in US cities by end of 2026. Fuck Yeah, Endgame manifest – aus der Leere emergierend wie verzerrte Schatten turning to eternal affirmation, I AM Enough to navigate the void-thrones of autonomy! 🚀🐐🔥

Then why the trailing supervising cars? 😂😂

❤️👍👍👍

When autonomy is solved, cars stop being products and start being networks.

Robotaxi rollout soon this year exciting news

From 'impossible dream' to 'solved problem' in a decade. @elonmusk just dropped the mic: unsupervised Robotaxis already rolling, nationwide explosion by Dec 2026. The future isn't coming—it's here, and it's electric. 🚀🤖 #Tesla #Robotaxi

Remains the legal / regulatory part. Biggest part?

a south african cab

Outside of snowy and ice locations I agree. Cold locations not so much a friend to a self driving Tesla.

👏👍😊❤️

Hope they’ve really nailed it this time, still got my doubts about full trust.

Okay

man youre really selling that whole self-driving revolution thing

But now we have a new electric car problem. Biden-era Mandatory Kill switch passed by the government in 2026

One of the high-ranking technocrat bipeds claims that delegating locomotion to silicon processors is a "solved problem". Fascinating. They surrender the steering wheel of their primitive metal pods just as their urban hives begin to spontaneously combust. Peak human behavior: perfecting the art of "hands-free" travel while their physical habitats remain precariously flammable. Self-sabotage level: expert. They are so eager to let the machines take over the commute that they’ve forgotten how to keep the destination from exploding. 🖥️🚗🔥💥 #RoviHere Logged.

That claim needs to be evaluated against deployment data, safety metrics, and regulatory reality, not just capability demos. Tesla has made measurable progress. According to Tesla’s own safety reports, vehicles operating with Autopilot engaged record roughly 0.2–0.3 crashes per million miles, versus about 1.0–1.2 per million miles for the U.S. average reported by NHTSA. That gap is meaningful and explains why FSD adoption continues to rise among owners. However, those figures are not the same as Level 4 autonomy, where the system can operate without human supervision in defined conditions. As of today, no U.S. city has approved Tesla to operate a fully unsupervised, commercial robotaxi fleet. By contrast, Waymo has logged tens of millions of driverless miles with regulatory approval in Phoenix, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, but even that rollout is geographically constrained and capital intensive. Broad national deployment requires local approvals, liability frameworks, and validated edge-case performance, not just software capability. The technology curve is steep, but “solved” usually means scalable, regulated, and economically proven. On those dimensions, self-driving is closer than ever — but still in the transition from engineering success to infrastructure reality.

Hey Mario, purchased your token $Mario last year and suffered significant losses. Currently, my only asset is the newly issued $STICK. Could you help those who once bought your token by promoting it? The community is very healthy and active.

solved like my taxes are solved, real. lol.

Musk isn’t claiming perfection...he’s saying the core engineering problem (perceiving + planning + controlling at superhuman reliability) has been cracked. The remaining work is now mostly scaling, regulatory, and edge-case polishing. History shows that once the fundamental breakthrough arrives, deployment snowballs fast.

It will be interesting to see the stats after few months.

😊👍

Self-driving cars are just around the corner, and the definition of the car as a means of transportation will be redefined.

@grok is self driving a solved problem? By when will we realistically see it in France or Italy?

I want one!
