There’s only ONE goal you need to have as a baseball player. It’s not throwing the hardest. Or having the highest EV. Or having the most HB on the sweeper. It’s this ⬇️ The day after people hail and gather to witness the pinnacle of competition, this felt like an important message to share Especially with a lot of players starting their seasons this week. Don’t mistake this for me saying that trying to better yourself physically, improve specific things about your game or develop as an individual are bad. They most certainly are not. (I literally have an offer where I give guys individual development plans lol) But that needs to be separate from the game itself. When the game comes around, that’s your time to enjoy the hell out of competing with your teammates. Your freaking boys. The guys you PUT IN all that work with. Just focus on winning. Winning fixes everything. I promise you. Focus on that. Nothing else.

High accountability shooting is something I don’t see very many instructors teach let alone demo. In some schoolhouses, quals, and/or real life engagements - you don’t have room to fail. Every once in a while, set up a drill with specific conditions that require an intense focus for 100% execution. This drill is simple, but there are 12 opportunities to lose focus on executing the fundamentals to achieve 100% alphas. Only one other student passed this particular test at the end of the course. It’s tough.

Wolverine’s level design is a complete shift from what we’re usually used to with Insomniac’s games. It’s obviously not an open world game like Spider man or Sunset Overdrive, and it doesn’t seem to have those larger open levels like in Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart or Santa Monica’s God of War. Levels are rather linear and you either just have to go from point A to point B, or you are put in a small to medium sized level where you have to complete a certain objective. There’s still enough space here for the devs to hide collectibles throughout the level, but don’t expect any crazy amount of openness. What I will say is that this level of linearity and focus has allowed Insomniac to put TONS of attention to detail, so try to be on the lookout for optional dialogues, easter eggs, and crazy graphical fidelity.
