El-Sayed: You propose a program, and very serious people will look at you and say, “How are you going to pay for that?” You know what they never ask a general who wants to send your tax dollars abroad or go to war in a place like Iran? “General,...

Guy who filed for bankruptcy 6 times started a $113 billion war. Nobody asked how he'd pay for it. Fiscal responsibility.

He’s deflecting. He knows there is no way to pay for his policies. America will go bankrupt.

🙄 Military spending is absolutely nothing compared to the government handouts locked behind ‘mandatory spending’ that not a single politician can ever tell you how they plan to pay for.

Literally every time we go into another conflict I ask “How are we going to pay for that?” Same way we pay for everything. Print money and drive inflation through the roof.

What a moron. This is the typical Socialist response. I’d rather pay to see Iran not have a nuke to destroy Israel or America than I would to see the Federal Government take over private businesses and private property. The Federal Government is the most inefficient management.

So, for the OP and Abdul El-Syed who don't have even basic grasp of governmental economics, the military actually has a budget to pull from (National Defense) in the graph below utilizing data compiled from the Congressional Budget Office. There is also a budget for things like healthcare (along with unemployment and SNAP benefits). Now, if you look at the allocations of these federal funds you might notice something. National defense makes up 11.9% of the federal budget (as of 2026). And how much of the federal budget is dedicated to the very thing he's bitching about? 14.3% (almost $200 billion more). But wait... there's more. There's ANOTHER part of the federal budget that includes even MORE medical care that is 11.3% of the budget, bringing the total medical care part of the federal budget up to... gasp... 25.6% of the federal budget... more than double that of national defense spending. And this is even before getting into other mandatory spending that involves social programs like SNAP, unemployment benefits, retirement, student loans, and veteran compensation. Translation: Abdul Sayed and OP are counting on people being too stupid and brainwashed by communism to do 10 seconds of research to be able to answer the question, "How do you plan to pay for that?" with, "The funds allocated by the federal budget that is voted on and passed by the Legislative branch of the federal government."

A non-moron would know that generals do not decide the budgets for deployments. On the other hand, perhaps his Support for Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, and Hamas kept him from service in the military.

I believe it's time for America to ask this man whether he condemns Iran for training, arming, and funding the terrorists who have kidnapped, raped, and killed Americans. Being Muslim doesn't justify terrorism, and believing they're pure evil for murdering innocent people doesn't make you Islamophobic. Suggesting that the US has no right to be at war with them because they are Muslim, and claiming that defending our nation isn't worth the cost, is anti-American. Let's see the content you deleted, which you made sure the public couldn't see, because this man is not transparent, and we'll see why he should not be near the Senate.

The level of spiritual blindness necessary to not see the evil this guy represents is downright scary. A discerning populace would see right through him and view him as just another lying Muslim waging Civilization Jihad against infidels.

Sending tax dollars to fight Radical Islamists in Iran is what I pay federal taxes for, not creating and maintaining a permanent government dependency class.

The defense budget is only 13% of the budget. Most of the federal budget (around 60%+) is mandatory spending (Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, other entitlements) plus net interest on the debt. These dwarf personnel and general operations costs of13%. Paid by taxes, revenues.

What nonsense. Generals do not have the power to tax the American people, nor do they make the decision as to where the military is employed.

Americans would have been living the dream like China on steroids if they would have cut off the poison at the roots by dismantling Israel and every last Zionist. But never too late. For your sake at least start by electing America First/Only as endorsed by trackaipac.

El-Sayed is failing Governance 101. 1) Generals carry out the CINC’s orders. LEGISLATORS sort out how to pay for programs. 2) Contrary to Hollywood progressive fever dreams, it’s not the generals who are thirsting for war. They’re often (as in Iran) among the most reluctant.

People say that to the military all the time, though. Budget issues for the military are some of the oldest known things in human history. A serious leader needs to be fiscally sensible with *every* program.
