Embrace Racing Lagoon

This game was a fever dream ong A car game with random encounters 💀😭

It's frying me everytime I read that lmao

And then when you beat them you steal their parts 😹

This game walked so "Need for Speed" and "Forza" could run ong

As always, the Japanese walk so the Western mid knock-offs can run

Imagine going for a nice drive and then get hit with a wild car battle.

Happens everytime

few people in the world probably have played this wonderful game!

We're 3

better few but good ones ! =D

Ahh,yes…the game with my favorite bodykit😈

SMT IV overworld cars mod

I'm pretty sure there's now a fan translation of this game into (enough) English. Thanks for reminding me to go looking for it... 😅

Oh it's been years that it's fully english now

My "pile of shame" of backlogged games is depressingly impressive. 😅👌

Just play Xenogears and Racing Lagoon and go back to the normal backlog

** makes note in notepad **

Currently playing Initial D Special Stage on ps2. Not 90's. But the vibe is still there

WHY are there random encounters in a racing game

JRPG Racing Game (They never bothered putting this idea in a game ever again)

@frostedmona Apparently, Racing Lagoon was originally set to be a sequel to Bahamut Lagoon, which is why it has a unique format as a JRPG-style racing game.

@frostedmona A sequel to WHAT

I spent so much time playing this, but I am no good and everyone steals all my parts. Please forgive me for making save states. I will keep trying to get better. 🙇♀️

for anyone passing by, there is a fan translation for this game. and if you would just like to know more, this is a great vid about the game and history.

Square*

The only reason I really liked this game aside from le aesthetics is that the cars handle exactly like the first Gran Turismo, it's prefecr

I love the game, man, but even so that game was hard to embrace at times.

Racing Lagoon's OST has such Kaiji vibes...

I can't recommend Racing Lagoon enough

I would but I'm so bad at it i can't get past the first race ☹️

South YOKOHAMA…俺たちのSTREET…

Correct

I supper love the game. The vibe, the story and the fighting all satisfying stuffs get together in this game ! 👍👍👍

@SC0NSTI0 what an immaculate vibe

Bruh I was just watching a video about this

was waiting for someone to mention this game…omg so good i really need to go back and finish it pronto

I always wonder why Square USA never bothered bringing this to America back then? We like cars and street racing as much as they do

@frostyfightclub Too bad this was never officially released outside of JP

My goat Thor put me on way back

The "Celine" is obviously a Celica, but is the Star a 1984 and older (FR) Starlet?

I dream of the fate Racing Lagoon would have raced through if it was released on PS2, imagine this game with Need 4 Speed Underground 2 graphics. Instead it was a cult hit in Japan and that was it...

Why there is a random encounter in racing game?

Genuinely one of the best RPGs I’ve ever played

Love this game. It gets pretty freakin difficult at a point and I still haven’t beaten it

It looks stunning Will def go on my PSP

Such a great game, just wish those loading times were better.

@cuveenoodle hey i know this game you can race with a bus in this game i think
