also a shame given they said max 52 (26M, 26F) but only 22 women on the roster, surely those remaining spots could have been used for some like MA. I don’t agree with the ‘non Olympic’ event policy. It’s world champs, not Olympics, it’s a medal event at worlds, treat it the same

@USASwimming Nobody crying about this before the competition and MA new what he had to do. Sadly his conditioning was way off on the 100’s and also not at his best for the 50’s. Was he tapered or did he think he could make it without tapering or do you taper when doing USRPT?

@USASwimming Brett I take your point but talking about him giving it his all in practice every day when he’s 3 seconds off his best in his best event and quite simply dropped another event because it requires real conditioning shows you’re just trying to stir the pot

@USASwimming I was so pulling for Michael in that 50 free! I hate to hear that a relay alternate gets the spot instead of him. I agree with you Brett…make it make sense! And also , WDE to you.

@USASwimming Did you mention that @USASwimming prioritized Olympic races (including relays) over non Olympic events to qualify for worlds? Yes, it is disappointing for M Andrews but swimming and life are full of disappointments.

@USASwimming Very hard to argue with this…but what really needs to happen is to add 50s to the Olympic Schedule….it will attract more viewers, and keep more people in the sport globally.
