Speaker, how can we “stand in its way” when “it”—that is, AI, has no intentionality? There are no default settings for the development of AI, so “standing in its way” is impossible. The issue before us is how to ensure AI benefits mankind rather than undermining it.

There is an evil wave sweeping across this country and its largely targeting women leaders. Myself and my fellow women governors; H.E Gladys Wanga, H.E Susan Kihika, H.E Cecily Mbarire are victims of these attacks. We will not be silenced, we will not retreat because we stand for change, we stand for progress and we stand for a better future for our people. There is also an alarming trend of femicide that is stripping women of their most basic right - the right to live. Let me remind everyone in this country that life is sacred and people’s lives belong to them and no one has the right to take them.
